Someone said she deserved something sparkly.  I believe it was Moosemom.

I had this made.  If anyone wants the info on the jeweler send me a PM.  I looked all over the internet for some gold kidney jewelry and could not find any.

I wish I had Karol's skill with a camera!!!!

The hospital gave Gwyn a little foam rubber kidney to replace his - he keeps it in his nightstand. They also gave him a certificate signed by the surgeon, nephrologist and coordinator.

Great idea on the jewelry!

You did a great job!  It is beautiful and I am sure she loves it.    Maybe more people would donate if they thought they would get a gorgeous necklace like that!   lol

Great idea on the jewelry!

I got a blue one that say prograf/tacrolimus on it.  I used it in the car under my seat belt.  It fit perfectly around my thigh and cushioning just the right spot on my abdomen.

Colleen really touched my heart.  She was so brave and a real trooper even though it caused her quite a bit of pain for several weeks.

I had just given her the solitaire (in the photo) a few days earlier for her birthday.  The jeweler called and told me the kidney was ready.  It was supposed to be an anniversary  present but I had to give it to her way early.  No way I could keep it a secret after I saw it.  I was well pleased with the way it turned out.

 :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;  Yes, something sparkly is always appreciated!  Well done!  I think it's brilliant that you actually had this made; it's unique, one of a kind, and that makes it even more special.  What kind hearts you both have.  While it is true that Colleen did something wonderful for you, make no mistake...she did this for herself, too.  I mean, she didn't want to live without you! :clap;

 We had that very discussion  before the transplant evaluation for her.  She admitted she had selfish reasons for wanting to donate to me.
