My husband is 47, had total kidney failure June 1997, transplant Oct. 1998, stroke 2003, heart attack quintuple bypass August 2008, two hernia repairs, removal of upper GI tumor 2008, transplant kidney failure and diagnosed with Fabry July 2010.  He decided to stop dialysis one week ago today.  He had two days of no urine output and now the last 24 hours, he has had two full diapers of urine.  What is happening?  Can anyone tell me?  Beverly

First of all, I am so sorry for what you and your hubby have been through. He is so young, I imagine it's very difficult, so sad for you too.
I think urination stops because fluid is removed through the dialysis. It seems probable that stopping dialysis caused the kidney to send the fluid on (it does this with some people) but it's not the quantity of urine, but the quality of filtration. So even though he's urinating, the toxins may be building up in his system.
I looked up Fabry Disease and it sounds like your hubby has had it all. It's hard to believe he was not diagnosed until recently, but I guess that's because it is rare, although it usually begins in childhood.
Please come back and let us know how you both are doing.

Hi, just be by his side and give him comfort.  I'm sure he just wants to be out of pain.  I hope he has a relationship with the Lord.  I do believe it is better on the other side.  Hugs to both of you.
