My name is anna and i am abbys mom. I just began home hemo dialysis 5 weeks ago so i dont have any log history as many of you do. I have polycystic disease and nothing else. I was vey over weight and went to have gastric band surgery.297 pounds and 5'5".  i was approved in may 2009 and went for preadmission testing, BMP,CbC etc... My creatinine was 3.0. WHAT?? I saw the nephrologist who approved the surgery because i was too over weight for a transplant. WHATTT??? TRANSPLANT ???? ??? so 16 monthe later i lost 87 pounds, 50 to go, am on the University Hispitals Cleveland transplant list, and I cranked my creatinine up to 10.0 without ever missing a day of work. I began training on nexstage 8-2-2010. I was really excited to see your web site. The only fun about this is have found several new ways to manipulate my husband. ;D ;DThe machineis amazing and i am really grateful for the science and my doctor but I HATE DIALYSIS. I am over whelmed to think of doing this for the rest of my life. It makes me cry. My Beautiful daughter abby is very opposed to me dying though. So are the dogs and my husband would be feral in 2 weeks. I also think he'd be doin my hospice nurse before im cold too. So here i am, Blogging. That is the story thus far.

This is the first intro that made me laugh out loud.  Here's hoping to a butt-ugly hospice nurse! :rofl;

Good for you for losing weight; that's a really difficult thing to do.  Anyone who has been able to lose 87 lbs can handle dialysis.  You just keep on the right track, and then you'll be able to get and enjoy that transplant.  Dialysis will become just a distant memory, and you can get back to being the best abbysmom ever!

 :welcomesign; Anna! Loved your introduction.  My Blokey (husband) is on haemoD and hates it with a passion too.  It is overwhelming to put it into the context of being something you might have to do for the rest of your life.  *hugs*
