Supposed to go for D this afternoon after our 2 day break and just had a phone call ..our unit has gone down, dont know the exact details. But some are being shipped off to the next nearest unit (which is massive) because its based at our major hospital , so takes sick, first timers, emergencies and the wait time to get on a machine can be 4 hours! But was told they are going to try and get the fittest (me!) in at our unit if they hopefully get it up and running by t-time and they are just going to give us a couple of hours. So fingers crossed  :2thumbsup; Luckily i feel ok today and not overloaded !

Hope you get treated locally, and on time, KS.....

Life on D is difficult, and complicated enough without all this!.....

Take care....

Hope you don't have to got to the main unit Kickstart. My main unit is Manchester Royal. They have maintenance patient beds and emergency beds. It's usually inevitable that at least one maintainence bed is occupied by an emergency patient because the emergency beds are full so you can get there and yes you have to wait 4 hours. Thank God I have my slot at the satellite unit where it's maintenence only.

You mean they shut the shop on Monday?

My unit was open as usual over the bank holiday.

one of the water systems went down at my unit the other day.  Luckily, a couple of the regulars that are there mon/wed/fri afternoons were vacationing, so they were able to get the rest of us on with the 2 other water systems they have.  I was in the isolation room that day.  They named it well.  It's furthest away from the desk and closed in, but they left the door open.

The last time the clinic went down because of water issues they offered 3rd shift later in the day. Normally their are only 4 or 5 patients so they were asking patients they have a choice of having treatment  later or waiting until the next regular treatment. I chose to wait, well I felt like crap when I went in two days later. Dumb Dumb Dumb :Kit n Stik; :Kit n Stik; :Kit n Stik; Last time I'm going to do that.

one of the other satellite units had water issues a few weeks ago. What they did was send a few of their patients who couldn't wait till later to our unit, and they were squeezed in.  The rest came for a 3rd shift that was staffed by nurses from the other unit.  They were coming in as I was leaving that evening.  None of the 4 units in my province normally have a 3rd shift.  Some don't have a second shift or are open on tue/thu/sat either
