I am  48 year old who had a liver transplant about 17 years ago and had renal failure 7 years ago due to the medication i was on ,I had a kidney transplant about 5 years ago that is now failing and i am about to go back on dialysis.I am a happy go lucky guy who cup is half full .
I am a passionate biker sharing my love of bikes with my seven sons.the wife decided to hit the eject button and is long gone .
I cant think of  anything else to say here but may add to it in the near future

caregiver to husband Frank

bladder cancer 1994
renal failure April 2009 due to blocked right ureter. Left kidney 20% function
November 18 2009 surgery to remove right ureter.
April 3, 2010 removal bladder, prostrate, left kidney.
June 11, 2010 started Hemo @ hospital
July 2, 2010 Embolized right Kidney due to hemoraging of tumor
September 11, 2010 RIP my love

Pyelonephritis (began at 8 mos old)
Home haemo 1980-1985 (self-cannulated with 15 gauge sharps)
Cadaveric transplant 1985
New upper-arm fistula April 2008
Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008
Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008
(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

Hi BFG and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you found us.  Seven sons?  WOW!  Sounds like you need to stick around. 

Are you on one amount of medication for both transplants?

I have had a liver transplant 4 years ago as well. My kidney failure is due to high blood pressure...they think!

7 sons!!.....Congrats and WOW! :)

Seven sons... How cool:)  Like your description of the wife hitting the eject button, I have never heard that one before (sorry she did that to you).  What kind of biking?  Motorcycle or petal?
