Good morning all

Hello everyone, I'm Mike from Bournemouth uk. I can't believe I've had renal failure for all these years and have never heard of this site.
A little bit about myself. I started having renal failure at 16, progressing to end stage at 29. Over the last 21 years I've had 3 transplants (lasting 6 months, 2 years and 5 years), and done a short spell on CAPD and hated it. I am now back on HD for the 3rd time. I'm in for the long haul this time as I cannot face going for another kidney.
I'm very fortunate, I live a happy and fulfilling life. I keep very good health now thanks to modern dialysis methods and my nurses now doing as they're told (Doesn't it take a long time to train them up?
). I'm also lucky enough to have the best friends anyone could wish for.
Looking forward to getting involved
Mike

What a fab attitude, Mike!
to IHD.
I hope you'll feel free to jump right into our discussions and offer your experiences, opinions, and positive outlook to the site. I'm sure we all could learn a lot from you. And don't forget, on your off days when you're fed up with kidney failure and just want to have a good rant, we're great listeners at those times, too.
I look forward to getting to know you better.

Ooooh, I've been to Bournemouth! I'm so glad you've decided to join us. I'm always so glad to hear from someone who is doing well on dialysis and is able to just get on with life. Thanks so much for posting, and I hope you will post often.

Your attitude is going to be the biggest factor in having a productive, and fulfilling, life the best you can despite the situation. It's sure looks like you have a great attitude.

Hi Mike, welcome to IHD. I found this site by searching for people who hate dialysis. I knew I could not be the only one who felt like there life was being taken away. I love this site. I can vent here and not have to bother my family who doesn't understand what I go through.
You will love it here. I'm looking forward to your posts.

Welcome to our community! And a special welcome from the British Caribbean (born in Barbados, living in the British Virgin Islands) So glad that you found us - a great place for information and support. But you have so much to offer us too with your years of experience. You can teach us how to train our nurses!! You much check out an IHD classic - Dar's Guide to Dialysis Nurses -

You are now part of the IHD family
- I look forward to hearing much more from you.
