So I'm almost 3 weeks out from my transplant and everything has been going great for the most part. My labs have been great. I've even out done my doctors expectations. My creatinine these last two draws has dropped to 0.9! They didn't expect me me to drop below 1.2 so that was a great surprise to have it stay so low. My white blood cell count is super high, but they are blaming that on my age, relative health (being good other than this) and the still higher doses of prednisone (15 mg twice a day). Other then that my other labs have been fine, they are still trying to get my Tac level where they want it.

My mom (donor) is doing well and gets to go home home this week, but can't go back to work until June. I have my first follow up on Thursday and hopefully get to go back to work half time next week (frankly I need the money cause I didn't qualify for short term disability).

Everything has been going really well, until this last weekend. I was managing my pain with pain pills twice a day but then Saturday came and after dinner I got hit with stabbing pain that would not go away. Long story short I ended up in the ER all day yesterday trying to figure out the pain. And of course they didn't find anything other than a slight UTI (which I've had in the past but have not ever had pain associated with it). So they are treating me for the UTI and hoping that the pain goes away with it. I'll give more updates when I have my first follow up.

Oh and if anyone is curious on pictures you can see the ones that I have up here:

Wow, big scar but it looks great! (Badge of Honor!) Best wishes to your lovely Mom - I hope your pain is resolved and you both have a speedy recovery!  :cuddle; :cuddle; :cuddle;

Glad you're doing well! Just curious why did your employer deny your STD? Did they actually think you are able to work?

I was denied when I started working at my current employer on grounds of existing condition. It's not that big of a deal, my work has been really great about everything else, adn I was able to use some of my sick leave and vacation to subsidize my time off. Just a little stressful for a few months, but then I should be good.
