 :welcomesign;   There is a lot of information here.  It's great that you found us and joined.  I look forward to hearing more from you.  Who in your family is on dialysis and how are they doing?

I am relatively new to this "sticking" business, but i would and do wait for my favorite to stick me.  I have a phobia against needles and these are some big a** needles, now :o  I have had the good, the bad, and the ugly (the worst), stick me, and yes I will wait till the best is available.  If I hurt someones feelings , I'm sorry.  I'd rather your feelings get hurt rather than my fistula!!!!

G'day nic and welcome to IHD! You have a bit of a unique perspective - from both sides of the "fence" - hope you can stick around and contribute to the community.

ABout sticking and waiting. I wouldn't wait for someone in particular to stick me - indeed I don't think my unit would allow that - the first person that can put you on puts you on. It is true some are better than others - but I've found that even some nurses who can stick well can at the same time have bad days, or rather pick bad spots on my fistula. So it hurts.. I don't hold it against them, and it usually goes away pretty quick and we get on with it. My focus is that the fistula is OK and the pressures are good and all that.

Anyway, welcome!  :welcomesign;
