An abstract for the article:

Doctors are launching a trial to see if patients can be treated using injections of their own stem cells within five hours of a heart attack. Early evidence has suggested bone marrow stem cells can be used to repair the damage to the heart muscle which is inflicted during a heart attack. And that could help prevent subsequent heart failure, which is more of a threat than the initial attack itself.

Science is moving forward and any spin offs will benefit us either directly or indirectly.

Woah! it is a very interesting time to be alive. So many interesting things will be happening within the next couple of decades. Hopefully one day I'll change the name of IHD to www.iusedtohatedialysis.com  ;)

Stem Celll Therapy has been brought up many times over the last years. I believe it will still be many years away before a major breakthrough is made.
