My father is the dialysis patient.  I am just his dialysis partner.  He is 82 years old.  Started dialysis at 74 in-center 2 years.  Told me he had 2 wishes 1 dialyze at home 2 die at home.  I found a nocturnal program 285 miles one way from our home.  Moved with dad to train for 5 weeks and have been doing nocturnal dialysis with him for the last 6 years. I totally contribute home dialysis to his still being alive and active today. We use the Fresenius 2008H machine and am considering switching over to NxStage Nocturnal.

:welcomesign;  Welcome, Marty1, sure you will be able to help with many questions on here, since you are 'an old hand' at it!  You are to be commended for your sacrifice and determination in keeping your dad alive and happy! :angel;  More power to you.  My father started in center almost 6 years ago, is now 88,  but I don't believe he'd be here were it not for my younger sister :angel; taking such good care of both dad and mom at home.  Kudos to you ! :clap;   It is not an easy task!    :o

Yes, I am following Pat's post on her journey to nocturnal with the NxStage.  Pat and her husband were in the same nocturnal program dad and I are in. Thanks for all the welcomes.
