I have heard everywhere that hemo patients should talk their pills after dialysis the days that they dialyze. Is this different for those who are on the cycler at night? I have been taking my legal drugs every night before i go on the cycler. I am not on Sensipar, and that is to be taken with your dinner, so i dont have to worry about that.

Wow, I never even thought of that.  I hook up around 8 pm, but I take my last meds around 9 or 10.  Hmmmm, guess I'll have to ask the nurse about that.  I got a kick out of your saying you took your "legal" drugs before you go on the cycler. So, when do you take your "illegal" drugs.   :rofl;

I take my vitamins in the morning, because they'll get dialyzed out the fastest. I'm on two BP meds, so to keep my BP stable I take one in the morning and one in the evening, but I haven't thought about how they might get dialyzed out. Might not matter so much with those - dialysis on the cycler controls my blood pressure better than the pills anyway.

Of course, Sensipar goes with dinner, so that doesn't change, and dialysis has no effect on binders. I also have another BP med and a diuretic to take as needed, but I don't take those often enough to consider whether the dialysis affects them.

 Hi ,Lillupie, what illegal drugs do you take! When should we take them. Before, after or during. This is getting interesting. Only joking.

I heard that about HD too Lillupie. When I was in hospital and took my meds in the morning then went on the machine the nurses weren't too happy. But then one day another nurse actually gave them to me after hooking me up.
Don't know about PD pulling your legal drugs from your blood stream. I take majority of my meds when I get off the cycler in the morning.
