Always been one of my facorites.

Morning Has Broken
Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the word

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

I don't believe in self-pity
It only brings you down
May be the queen of broken hearts
But I don't hide behind the crown
When the deck is stacked against me
I just play a different game
My roots are planted in the past
And though my life is changin' fast
Who I am is who I wanna be

My Theme song for the last 10 years:

I've paid my dues -
Time after time -
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime -
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face -
But I've come through

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world -

I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls -
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it
-
I thank you all -

But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise -
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race -
And I ain't gonna lose -

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world -

Queen - "We are the Champions"

Father,Son by Peter Gabriel

Father, son
Locked as one
In this empty room
Spine against spine
Yours against mine
Till the warmth comes through

Remember the breakwaters down by the waves
I first found my courage
Knowing daddy could save
I could hold back the tide
With my dad by my side

Dogs, plows and bows
We move through each pose
Struggling in our separate ways
Mantras and hymns
Unfolding limbs
Looking for release through the pain

And the yogi's eyes are open
Looking up above
He too is dreaming of his daddy's love
With his dad by his side
Got his dad by his side

Can you recall
How you took me to school
We couldn't talk much at all
It's been so many years
And now these tears
Guess I'm still your child

Out on the moors
We take a pause
See how far we have come
You're moving quite slow
How far can we go
Father and son

With my dad by my side
With my dad by my side
Got my dad by my side
With me

Carole King: Child of Mine

Although you see the world different than me
Sometimes I can touch upon the wonders that you see
All the new colors and pictures you've designed
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

Child of mine, child of mine
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

You don't need direction, you know which way to go
And I don't want to hold you back, I just want to watch you grow
You're the one who taught me you don't have to look behind
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

Child of mine, child of mine
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

Nobody's gonna kill your dreams
Or tell you how to live your life
There'll always be people to make it hard for a while
But you'll change their heads when they see you smile

The times you were born in may not have been the best
But you can make the times to come better than the rest
I know you will be honest if you can't always be kind
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

Child of mine, child of mine,
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

Child of mine, child of mine
Oh yes, sweet darling
So glad you are a child of mine

and of course the lyrics on my signature.

Questions From a Worker Who Reads...

Who built Thebes of the seven gates?
In the books you will find the names of kings.
Did the kings haul up the lumps of rock?
And Babylon, many times demolished
Who raised it up so many times? In what houses
of gold-glittering Lima did the builders live?
Where, the evening that the Wall of China was finished
Did the masons go? Great Rome
Is full of triumphal arches. Who erected them? Over whom
Did the Caesars
triumph? Had Byzantium, much praised in song
Only palaces for its inhabitants? Even in fabled Atlantis
The night the ocean engulfed it
The drowning still bawled for their slaves.

The young Alexander conquered India.
Was he alone?
Caesar beat the Gauls.
Did he not have even a cook with him?

Philip of Spain wept when his armada
Went down. Was he the only one to weep?
Frederick the Second won the Seven Year's War. Who
Else won it?

Every page a victory.
Who cooked the feast for the victors?
Every ten years a great man?
Who paid the bill?

So many reports.
So many questions.

I find this very inspiring....

'You'll Never Walk Alone'... (R. Rodgers - O. Hammerstein II)... My personal preference is the version sung by Ronan Tynan....

When you walk through the storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on, through the wind
Walk on, through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

Perhaps Love
   ------John Denver

(Best sung by Placido Domingo and John Denver)

Perhaps love is like a resting place
A shelter from the storm
It exists to give you comfort
It is there to keep you warm
And in those times of trouble
When you are most alone
The memory of love will bring you home

Perhaps love is like a window
Perhaps an open door
It invites you to come closer
It wants to show you more
And even if you lose yourself
And don't know what to do
The memory of love will see you through

Oh, Love to some is like a cloud
To some as strong as steel
For some a way of living
For some a way to feel

And some say love is holding on
And some say letting go
And some say love is everything
And some say they don't know

Perhaps love is like the ocean
Full of conflict, full of pain
Like a fire when it's cold outside
Thunder when it rains
If I should live forever
And all my dreams come true
My memories of love will be of you

Machine Head : Imperium
(not full lyrics, just the end of song)

Just listen to it
Voice so true inside calling
To pick you up and march you on
Keep from falling
Let go your sorrow
Sun will shine, this I promise
Rising tommorow
Rising

Hear me now
I'm taking back the control
Of my
Life from society's hold
I vow
No more will I be a slave
Rise to
Challenge the whole human race

My spirit you cannot break

When we won't lose

BRÜNNHILDE
Nur Todgeweihten taugt mein Anblick;

Gefallner Helden hehre Schar
umfängt dich hold mit hoch-heiligem Gruss.

SIEGMUND
Grüsst mich in Walhall froh eine Frau?

BRÜNNHILDE
Wunschmädchen walten dort hehr:
Wotans Tochter reicht dir traulich den Trank!

SIEGMUND
doch Eines sag' mir, du Ew'ge!
Begleitet den Bruder die bräutliche Schwester?
Umfängt Siegmund Sieglinde dort?

BRÜNNHILDE
Erdenluft muss sie noch atmen:
Sieglinde sieht Siegmund dort nicht!

SIEGMUND
So grüsse mir Walhall,
grüsse mir Wotan,
grüsse mir Wälse
und alle Helden,
grüss' auch die holden Wunschesmädchen: -

zu ihnen folg' ich dir nicht.

OK a translation —

BRÜNNHILDE
Only those doomed to die see my stare.
Whoever looks on me must leave life and its light.
I only appear to heroes on the battlefield.
The man who sees me is my victim in battle.

SIEGMUND
If I follow you whither will you lead your hero?

BRÜNNHILDE
To the Lord of battles who chose you I shall lead you.
You will follow me to Valhalla.
Fallen heroes in a splendid body
will embrace you kindly and welcome you solemnly.

SIEGMUND
In Valhalla shall I be welcomed warmly by a woman?

BRÜNNHILDE
Desirable maidens abound there in splendour.
Wotan's daughter will gladly give you your drink.

SIEGMUND
But tell me one thing, Immortal:
can this brother take with him his sister and bride?
May Siegmund embrace Sieglinde there?

BRÜNNHILDE
She must still breathe the air of earth.
Siegmund shall not see Sieglinde there.

SIEGMUND
Then greet Valhalla for me,
greet Wotan too,
greet Volsa for me
and all the heroes,
greet the lovely wishmaidens too.

I will not follow you to them.

Another favourite of mine... Written by Julie Gold...

Of course being a big fan, I prefer the Ronan Tynan version of the song....

It's called...

'From a Distance'...

From a distance the world looks blue and green,
and the snow-capped mountains white.
From a distance the ocean meets the stream,
and the eagle takes to flight.

From a distance, there is harmony,
and it echoes through the land.
It's the voice of hope, it's the voice of peace,
it's the voice of every man.

From a distance we all have enough,
and no one is in need.
And there are no guns, no bombs, and no disease,
no hungry mouths to feed.

From a distance we are instruments
marching in a common band.
Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace.
They're the songs of every man.
God is watching us. God is watching us.
God is watching us from a distance.

From a distance you look like my friend,
even though we are at war.
From a distance I just cannot comprehend
what all this fighting is for.

From a distance there is harmony,
and it echoes through the land.
And it's the hope of hopes, it's the love of loves,
it's the heart of every man.

It's the hope of hopes, it's the love of loves.
This is the song of every man.
And God is watching us, God is watching us,
God is watching us from a distance.
Oh, God is watching us, God is watching.
God is watching us from a distance

Here is a line I like, for when people are trying to tell you what to do and you don't feel they are right:

You say you've got the answers
Well who asked you anyway?
