"Pple cant do evrythin but every1 can do somethin"

« on: September 05, 2009, 05:07:22 PM »

I received a call on Monday from the hospital saying I had a kidney waiting for me. On Tuesday I had the kidney transplant and I get discharged tomorrow. It went so successfully and I feel so very good. It is from a 16 year old deceased from Michigan. I cannot wait to write my thank you letter to the family. I am so happy and so blessed and so grateful and so excited and so joyous of life. God is good. :secret;

It is true. I have to really thank God. I never thought I would be this blessed. 3 weeks ago I went to church for the very first time in my entire life and I felt my spirits lift. Literally. No joke. It was such an amazing feeling. A week after that, a guy on the dialysis shift with me got called for a transplant. I was really happy for him. A few days after that, I was switched to his chair. I thought that was a sign. I just really really felt like it was a good sign for me. A few sessions later, I am called for a new kidney. This is a true blessing. I could not be happier. I feel great. I feel happy. I feel excited. I feel blessed. I feel amazed. I feel lifted. I will pray for all of you. Always. With the support of my family, my friends, my boyfriend, and my family here on ihatedialysis.com, I made it through. Thank you all. :waving;

Congratulations, Maritza!!!  That is an awesome story about what happened before you got the call.  You are truly blessed!

Take these first 6 months and take care of yourself, your new gift of life, and embrace the warmth and love of your friends and family.  Once you've been given the clear, throw yourself a "Kick-Ass Kidney Kick Off Party" and live it up!  You deserve it!!!

One thing that I think would be touching, if you are able, is to have a table set aside at your party in dedication to your donor and his/her family.  If you get their contact information, maybe have a big poster out so your guests can sign it and say how much their gift means to them, to be able to have a free and healthier Maritza in their lives.

Viva la Agua!

I'm so happy for you!!  I know I haven't been here very long, but the first time I saw your picture, I thought this girl is too young to have to be in this position.  I, on the other hand, am an old bag and was able to live a normal life until my 50's!  So its nice to hear you got the transplant.

I wish you a long, happy and healthy life.  I'm sure the people in your life are just as a happy for you as you are!  By you getting a call may give others hope the same will happen for them!!!

CONGRADULATIONS!!!

Thank you everyone. I am still so very surprised that this has occured to me but things happen for a reason right? God knew that I was ready and that I would take care of myself. I am ready to live it up. I get discharged today hopefully. I am urinating like a racehorse, it is truly amazing and I am drinking like crazy. It feels wonderful. I will have a real kidney kick-ass party when the time is right and I can be around people again. It is going to be great. I feel like crying because of all the congratulations I am receiving. I am so truly happy. Thank you all!
