Test your memory and your love of live music by listing 50 artists or bands (or as many as you can remember) you've seen in concert. List the first 50 acts that come into your head. An act you saw at a festival and opening acts count, but only if you can't think of 50 other artists. Oh, and list the first concert you ever saw.

1. Kiss
2. The Grateful Dead
3. Jerry Garcia Band
4. Rat Dog
5. Hot Tuna
6. The Rolling Stones
7. The Who
8. Santana
9. Ray Charles
10. Van Halen (David Lee Roth)
11. The Eagles
12. Yes
13. The Doobie Brothers
14. The Allman Brothers
15. Foghat
16. The Outlaws
17. Eric Clapton
18. Ted Nugent

21. Chicago
22. Robin Trower
23. Bob Dylan
24. Pink Floyd
25. Jethro Tull
26. Edgar Winter
27. The Beach Boys
28. Little Feat
29. Ziggy Marley
30. Paul McCartney
31. David Bowie
32. Elvis Costello
33. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
34. Nils Lofgrin
35. Billy Idol
36. CSN & Y
37. New Riders of the Purple Sage

I am such a nerd.

I have been to a Judy Collins Concert (my first concert), Peter Paul and Mary, Diana Krall and Joshua Bell.

Besides those, I have been to untold ballets, (used to be the president of the Appalachian Ballet Company), numerous operas (too many to count), and many, many symphonies.

Besides 90% of the bands that YLGUY has listed, I can think of a few others I have seen...

Quicksilver
Zepplin
T-Rex
Boz Scaggs
Steely Dan
Van Morrison
ELO

There are so many I can't remember the names, when I was high school (California - West Covina High) on the weekends in Pasadena (where they would store the floats for the New Year Parade) the would have concerts in there every friday night and for years my friends and I would never miss one. It was great and I am definetly giving my age away.......

Fifty concerts? I think I could do much better at this with Broadway/West End shows, but I will try to list the acts I've seen live. Not much of a concert goer, but as I read through these, I remembered a few more I've seen.

First concert - uh, I think Harry Connick Jr, but not sure. Actually saw him twice.

Billy Joel (twice, once with Elton John and once solo)
Elton John (twice, same as above) By the way, I cannot stand either Billy Joel or Elton John anymore.
Paul Simon
U2
The Manic Street Preachers (twice)
The Beautiful South
R.E.M.
Blondie
Blues Travellers
Courtney Love (She was terrible, but it was part of a music festival)
Elvis Costello
Billy Bragg and Wilco
Ray Charles (only a few songs)
Kidd Rock (not on purpose)
Tim McGraw (definitely not on purpose)
Susan Werner (at least 3 times - had a good friend who was obsessed with her. I am not exaggerrating.)

Two close friends write music, and I have CDs from both of them. I have seen both perform live, too.

My former brother-in-law was in a band that I saw perform a few times. Can't remember the name, though.  :oops;
OK, I looked it up. They were called 10Speed. My former brother-in-law is the singer, and many have remarked on his likeness to the late lead of T-Rex.
Enjoy - the heavily made-up woman is my sister: http://www.veoh.com/collection/10-Speed-Music-Videos/watch/v165894524zjXBxYE#

Almost saw Ian Dury but he was too ill to make the gig; poor thing died of cancer within a year.

Some fun imposters I remember watching at music festivals:
Bjorn Again (a faux ABBA band)
The Rolling Clones (Fake Stones band, of course)

Last but not least, TOM JONES. Required viewing when you have a Welsh person in the house. He happened to be touring in Chicago on my husband's fortieth. I don't expect to ever see so many pairs of underwear fly through the air simultaneously again. :rofl;

I thought I'd seen a fair few bands, but now realise I am really lacking in the concert stakes.  *sigh*

1. Manic Street Preachers (first concert, and a total of five times)
2. REM (twice)
3. Kylie
4. The Killers
5. Razorlight
6. Chumbawumba
7. Terrorvision
8. Bjorn Again
9. The Damned
10. Editors
11. Busted
12. McFly
13. Louis XIV
14. Scouting for Girls

... I have a long way to go before I hit fifty!

I have seen the Grateful Dead over times alone.  I never really considered myself a Deadhead because I always had a full time job.  I just went to the Greek Theater in Los Angeles this weekend to see one of their members' bands: Rat Dog.

Been to about 15 Dead shows I estimate and my husband's license plate is Dead Hd.  I had a full time job too Marc...I taught French at Acadia University at the time.   I preferred the outdoor concerts to the indoor ones.  We have what seems like trillions of tapes.
