transplant update

Well, I haven't posted in a while. Nothing really new going on. Day in and day out of nxstage home hemo. My labs are really good. The woman who was potentially donating me her kidney got bumped off the potential donor list for missing too many office visits. I was pretty sure she was not going to come through from the beginning, so I never really got my hopes up. My boyfriend/home hemo partner has always wanted to be tested, but I never really pursued it. He made me promise that by this July by his fifty first birthday if I had no potential donors, I would let him be tested. So last month he had his first colonoscopy which came back great, and then we called my transplant coordinator. His blood type came back a perfect match, and today we got the call that his antibodies are negative. So it looks like a go from here. I started to cry when he told me.....what a beautiful gift of love to give someone.
