  Hi.  I've been dating a guy (my neighbor of 10 years)  for almost a year now who has been on dialysis for 15 years.  I'm hoping to learn more about dialysis.  I found this site last night after doing a search for recipes and it looks like a great place.  Anyways, that's my story.   :flower;

 :welcomesign; MissJune. We are a wonderful group. Loads of information and support to be had. Tell your guy to join us, we can learn from him and his 15 years and he can learn some from us. Hope to hear more from you.  :cuddle;

 :welcomesign; Miss June,

Is your boyfriend an IHD member? 15 years on dialysis is a long time. Does he do PD or Hemo dialysis? I would imagine after 15 years, he is an expert.  I am also a caregiver. My 15 year old daughter was on dialysis for 18 months and got a new kidney July 4th of this year!!! :2thumbsup; My 18 year old daughter has a kidney function of 18-25% and is in denial about her kidneys ever failing. I hope she prooves the doctors wrong.

There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum and lots of support. I am glad that you joined.

It is great you want to know more about what your boyfriend is doing on dialysis. Welcome to the boards! There is a section for caregivers, but you can go anywhere on   the board you want for information and conversation!

Welcome to our community, Miss June!    I am always gratified when people join IHD because of their concern for a loved one.  This is just the place to be for information, support, and even lots of fun.  In fact, this is much more than just a website - it is a genuine, caring and sharing family.  :grouphug; Stick around and you will find out.  Just keep reading and keep posting.  Is your boyfriend a member?  If not, tell him he needs to join.
