It looks like small group will do the Grand Canyon thing.  I am going to need a head count to tell the tour folks. Just telling them a group is not going to go over too well with them.   Expedia here I come.

 :bandance; GRAND CANYON HERE WE COME!!!  :bandance;
                   (Rolando and Alene)

Should we bring all of our DaVita stuff and throw it over the edge? Yes, I know it's littering, but God will understand and Epoman would love it (even if the rangers don't - would somebody please bring bail money?)

Here is my next question.
Where are we all staying? Same motel or casino hotel so we can talk all night long? Or different places according to wallets and budgets?  The cheapest I have found for flight and hotel for three nights is 384.

Seems to be cheapest site for hotels in Vegas.

I believe Sluff has made some calls to some hotels trying to get a package together,  i think we should wait until he comes back to confirm that though  8)

Grand Canyon Information for the group to peruse.  Please let me know which tour you would like tot ake and how many in your party.

We offer tours to the West and South Rims of the Grand Canyon on Sundays.  Our 4 wheel-drive, biodiesel-fueled vans fit a maximum of 13 passengers and we could accommodate your group in two separate vans.  We could also arrange to have your group together in a chartered bus for a higher price, if that would be preferable.  Is it important to your group to travel in one vehicle?

The West Rim is a 10 hour tour and the drive is about 3 hours each way.  The price per person for the West Rim is $166 for adults and $146 for students & children.  This includes all fuel costs, professional driver guides, entrance to the Hualapai Reservation at Grand Canyon West, 2 view points,  BBQ lunch on the rim, and view of the world famous Skywalk.  Tickets for the Skywalk are $25 per person and may be purchased in advance to avoid waiting in long line, just let us know how many people would like to take the walk.  We would keep the extra 6 seats in our vans available to the public, unless you would rather have a private tour, in which case we would charge an extra fee of $650 to close the vans to your group only.  So, the total price to go to the West Rim would be between $2,920 - $4,470 depending on your party demographics, preferences, and the number of Skywalk tickets.

The South Rim is a 15 hour tour and the drive is about 5 hours each way.  The price per person for the South Rim is $139 for adults and $119 for students & children.  This includes all fuel costs, park entrance fees, professional driver guides, and 4 hours of free time in the park.  The price to close the vans to the public would be $750 for this trip.  So, the total price to go to the South Rim would be between $2,380 - $3,530 depending on your party demographics and preferences.

I was looking for a post I made about my grams doing an exchange with their time share.  Couldn't find it....anyways, not doing it that way.  to make an exchange worth it we would have to stay a week and I'm  not paying for diaylsis in Vegas.  The weekend trip is plenty long.  So we'll be staying where ever the majority stays.  Actually wherever Susie stays.  Am I crazy for wanting to do that?  :urcrazy;  Don't answer! ! !
Also, looksl like I will be flying.  :-\ Lots and lots of alchohol please  :wine;   :wine;  :wine;  :wine;  :beer1;  :beer1;  :beer1;

I would think so since they do a lot of groups for the canyon.

This is the only place that gave me a decent answer to questions about the Grand Canyon trip.  One guy told me to go to his site and look. Sheez! If I wanted to do that I would have!  This gal took time to answer my questions in full and is waiting for an answer from me. I say we go with her group tour no matter what it costs if we go!

The Grand Canyon trip has hit a snag. The company that answered me does not have wheelchair accessibility in their vans. Now what?

Thanks for your questions.
Lunch is not included in the price quoted, for the south rim, but it can be for your group if requested for an additional charge.

 Our vans are not wheelchair accessible.

For a small group of 5 to 8, there is not problem, the price is based on the van rate.

I'm still working on the hotel. I put another call in and I'm waiting on a return call from a couple of hotels.

Has anyone ever stayed or had any experience with Sam's Town? They seem to be reasonable in cost.  PM me.

RE: sam's town. from the on line pictures from more than one site, it looks like a fairly nice place, with everything anyone could possibly want. it is however 6 miles from the strip, my question  would be how convenient or inconvenient is it going to be to get around. do they have transportation from the airport (not terribly fond of the cost of a taxi) will we be able to get to the olive garden easily or are we going to change that.
