Last night my son picked me up from work since I still don't
have transportation and a guy ran a red light and slammed into
us.  I imagine my son's car is totaled as whole front is demolished.
Somehow the other guy was able to drive his car away.  Fortunately
we were not hurt bad, scrapes, and my right hand is still in terrible
pain and some swelling.
I'm going to have it x-rayed to make sure it is not broken.
Fortunately my pd tube did not get jarred loose or anything.
Now neither one of has transportation. I have found 1 car that is a
possibility tho. I'm right-handed so doing this left handed which is hard.

Sorry to hear about this.   :cuddle;  I'm really glad no one was seriously hurt.  Hopefully the insurance money will come through soon.

Ohio Buckeye,  I sure hope you have a better week this week, sounds like you deserve it.  And, you type better with your left hand than I usually do with both hands!

I'm glad the pain has gotten a little better.  How much longer for the cast?

I go back on the 17th to get it x-rayed again to make sure they
are still lined up, then he said probably another 3 wks or so. in cast  after that.
I got to wash my hand, lather it up, rub it and itch in between the casts and
that felt soooooooooooooo good.
It is really hard to sleep being hooked up to pd and with the cast on. hand feels
so squeezed up and uncomfortable,  can't relax, could not sleep before this but
now it is really bad.  Think I need some of that stuff Epo is taking,  :)
doing a lot of reading and a big puzzle.

Are you keeping it elevated for several hours every day?  That usually helps with the swelling and keeps the cast from feeling so tight.  Have they given you anything for pain or to help you sleep?  If not, maybe they can if you ask.

I know that lather and scrub really felt great.  When Mike broke his leg several years ago -- right below the knee, playing league softball -- he had a cast from his groin to his toes and went six weeks without washing it.  Felt awful and smelled worse :lol;  After the cast came off he wore a custom made removable support for a couple of weeks.  Every time he changed clothes and bathed, we rubbed his leg down with lotion and terry cloth towels -- the skin rolled off in layers -- UCKY, but sure felt and smelled better.

My prayers are with you.  Please keep us posted.
