I'm a 30-year old woman and I donated a kidney to my dad July 23, 2008.

Now, I'm busy researching a documentary about organ transplants.  We will investigate the current state of the North American dialysis and transplant systems and the international organ trade.  Our company (Associated Producers) is based in Toronto, but the doc will air on HBO in the US and on Global in Canada.

The last documentary we worked on was called Sex Slaves and it won an Emmy, among other awards.  In fact, Associated Producers Ltd. has produced acclaimed, headline grabbing programming for most major broadcasters around the world. AP’s films have won almost every available industry award including a Dupont-Columbia University Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism, the British Broadcast Award, a Royal Television Society Award, various Gemini Awards, the Edward R. Murrow Award and an unprecedented three U.S. Emmys for “Outstanding Investigative Journalism” (1996, 1997, 2007).

I'm joining your group to research the issues that are important to dialysis patients and also to connect with one or two dialysis patients in Toronto to profile for our documentary.  We want to know what life on dialysis looks and feels like.  I'm an easy person to talk to and I'd like to hear your stories.

Please call, PM or email me for a confidential chat - 416-504-6662 x222 or jarmitage@apltd.com.

Thanks for reading this!  Kindest regards, Jay

Good on you for being a kidney donor and also for doing the doco.  The more info out there about dialysis the better.

Welcome to our community, Jay.  Donors are always considered special people here - heroes (heroines) and angels!  Please let us know how your dad is doing.
Hope you get the info you need.
