hi, my name is my mike. I live in Indiana and have been on PD dialysis for about a month.Iam 38 years old and my kidneys have failed due to high blood pressure.I just last week had to have a perm cath put in because i i had a hernia that was leaking. This is a bummer because i was just starting to get into the swing of things and had just gotten back to work.My first hemo exchange was yesterday morning and it really knocked the wind out me for about 5-6 afterward but i feel much better today. Not looking forward to Tuesday!!!I hope my hernia heals quickly so i can get back on PD as soon as possible.PD seems to go alot better for me.Plus i enjoy having my kids around while i do it, makes the time go much faster.I look forward to getting valuable information from this site and making some new friends. thanks mike

Welcome Mike and I'm so glad you found us.
By reading your intro I noticed you liked having your kids around while you are doing PD exchanges. Just be really careful they don't touch, cough, or sneeze on anything..... or even breath on anything. No pets should be in your exchange room. Infection is not a good thing.
Best of luck!!

Good to meet you Mike. I do PD too, and also had to do haemo for a while. You'll be back to the bags in no time.
