Going through life tied to a chair!

Just looking at the picture I got home sick.  Oh my gosh I had a hard time.  But, I had a hard time going to first grade!  I haven't changed a bit!  I just don't do well with change.  She will do very well.

Wow looks like a nice dorm room. I like that she has greenery outside her window - that would be restful!

All the women in your family are attractive Karol - must be the genes!!!  >:D  :grouphug;

She has a forest outside her window - it's really beautiful. (Although someone mention Lyme disease today - good Lord - do I need to worry about that?)
She asked me to send a stuffed animal off her bed. Her dad thought maybe that meant she was a little homesick.
I miss her but she sounds like there is lots to do on campus. On Saturday night they are having a Roaring 20's dance, so she is going to put together a costume from clothes she has.

If she goes walking in the woods she should be mindful of ticks.  Deer ticks are really small, but I think they have to be on for 12-24 hours before they can transmit the disease.

We don't have ticks here much in California - I have only seen one my whole life - it was on a dog - so how do you prevent them - use repellent?

If she wants to be serious about hiking or being out in the woods, she should probably be wearing long pants and a long-sleeved shirt and spraying a repellent that contains DEET on the clothing, not on her skin.  Then she should be sure to do a body check when she gets back.

I think they have come a long way in controlling deer ticks in residential areas.  The biggest problem is that deer ticks are so tiny that they can be easily missed.
