I don't remember the size of the Honda flat four, is that more than 2000 cc ?
In Asia the must abundant motor bikes are those, in the style that my girlfriend Somparn is pictured on below.
Yes she is riding barefoot on a Honda 125 cc Wave , with clutchless gear changing. The young guys around try to hop them up and add running lights and even loud stereo speakers, with an amp under the seat. Her motorcycle cost $ 750.
Somparn on a 150cc Honda Repsol NSR below.

Actually we do have motorcycles with V8 car engines in them but i was referring to normal production bikes.

Well, lets see.  Harley's newer twincam 88B engine, which if I'm not mistaken, is 88Ci or 1450cc and the brand new V-Rod Revolution engine is 69Ci or 1130cc.

Yamaha has the smallest V twin in the jap bike market with it's 1500cc V twin Road Star.  Honda and Suzuki both have 1800cc V twins and Kawasaki has a monstrous 2000cc V twin.  But that is not the biggest.  Triumph has a new monster out that has a 2300cc in-line 3 cyl engine which amazingly, has enough power to suck the headlight out of Yamaha's all mighty 1200cc V4 V-Max.  :o  And that's still not the biggest production motorcycle you can buy in the US.

And the winner is........ The BossHoss.  Yes, this is a production motorcycle that comes with a Chevy 350Ci V8.  And if you want, they can customize it with Chevy's 454Ci bigblock V8.  :o  There is no replacement for displacement kiddies.  :P

No, Honda's biggest flat 4 was only 1200cc.  Honda's flat 6 which was the next evolution in the big boxer engine and the first of those was 1500cc and actualy had a reverce gear.  The next bump up was to 1800cc flat 6 and the latest update that I heard of was 2000cc flat 6 but I haven't seen one of those yet.

I like the look of a Harley.  I don't know how to ride, but it sure looks relaxing (for the passenger). :clap;

When I had passengers they would fall asleep because they said it felt like a recliner. My son used to ride all over the country with me and if I got a nickel for getting hit in the back by his helmut from sleeping I would be rich.

I have had passengers who wanted to sit up straight while I am leaning over into a curve. I had to stop and explain about going with my leaning. Two months ago with a light weight  lady as passenger I noticed on a straight road that my motorcycle was moving left like  a heavy side wind was pushing left ,except there was no wind. I looked quickly over my left shoulder, and sure enough saw her leaning to the left to get a better view ahead, since my head was blocking her view.
Also I don't take passengers who have been drinking,  cause things can happen.
Below is a Photo of a made in the Philippines covered side car welded to a 2 cycle motorcycle, or other small motorcycles. This can now transport 5 or six people short distances or transport merchandise in local streets. When it is parked, kids will try it for size.

I had a 2000 Harley Nightrain, then a 2005 Nightrain. After my second stroke, I found myself falling over at low speed turns. I then traded for my trike. It was a 2002 Super Dyna Glide with 2000 miles on it, fitted with a DFT trike conversion kit. I've made several modifications to it. I plan to repaint it when I have a place to do it. I have all the equipment. I want to move this spring or summer, and have a 24x36 steel building. I started to put it up, but decided to move and have decided to take it with me when I move.

Many moons ago I had a Yamaha 350 R5 - I worked in the motorcycle industry for 7 years,
dealing in aftermarket exhaust systems (Kerker) and other race bike equipment (Racecrafters)
and also brakes (Hurst Airheart). It was fun and I learned a lot about engines and tuning.
I got to go to many great races and tracks and met lots of fun people. I decided riding a
bike was too risky for me but I love to be a passenger sometimes!
Photo is Laguna Seca, I think. I am with Gene Romero on bottom right. (Kids, this is a
REALLY long time ago, so it's ancient history!)
Karol
aka Yamaha Mama  <-- ok I know its silly, but thats what my friends at work called me

This photo is of me in the early 70's at the motorcycle shop where I worked. I was a flattrack racer. I raced shorttracks mainly, and 100cc-125cc. I rode Hodakas, since we sold them. I was a mechanic and built race bikes. We had the first motorcycle dyno in this part of the country. I rode a few 1/2 mile tracks. The half miles rung every bit out of the little engines. :P I went to a few AMA Pro races. There would be sportsmans races on Saturday, and the Pros ran on Sundays. It was always a good time.

Notice the bell bottom pants. They were good for getting caught in the motorcycle chain. :D

Awesome pics from Laguna!!  Who are the other 3 people?
The two guys in the upper left corner were my bosses at different times - they sponsored some
racebikes together - Dick Raczuk who owned Kerker, and Lyn Abrams who owned Racecrafters.
Upper right is Kenny Roberts - champion racer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenny_Roberts.
Lower left my roommate Bernie (the girl) and Reg Pridmore who I think rode a Kawasaki 1000
sponsored by Racecrafters. I also worked with some other guys that started a Suberbike School. I
think it's still in business. http://www.superbikeschool.com/gallery/album04?page=1

Great pictures! They reminded me of the olden days. I met several of the greats in those days, but it's too long ago and too many strokes ago to remember.

I'm confused...why are there 2 motorcycle threads?? Just wondering bc I thought doubled things were deleted...

EDITED: Added Comment - Sluff,Moderator

There are two motorcycle threads because it was easier for a New Member to find his thread. It may be merged in the future but was left as is for now out of courtesy.  Every decision made is based on what is best for our members. Also doubled threads are never deleted. Double posts are only upon request of the poster. You mod your site Shay, leave this one for the IHD mods to mod.

Because someone didn't do a search and realize there already was this one?

Who knows. It happens. No big deal. Let the mods handle it ;)

Did you see Sandman's bike in the few pages back Shay? This is a great thread!  :clap; I love Triker's trik and I never knew Karol was a Yamaha Mama!  :2thumbsup;

I take my trike to shows. The black paint has several flaws in it from riding it some much, chips, scratches, & etc. I'm also planning on doing a little body work on the fiberglass. I had to cut a little body work to fit a custom seat. I cut out a little more than I should have, so want to repair it. Not a big deal, but for a show bike, I want it right. Then there is a star check on the top of one of the rear fenders where a stone threw from a rear tire at high speed. I want to repair it, and coat the underside of the fenders with spray bedliner. I have a new custom front fender for the bike, but it needs painting. I replaced the old Dyna narrow frontend with a new chrome wide glide style frontend, and changed from a 19" wheel to a 21". That's why I needed a new fender.
