Hi, My name is Graeme I'm 56 years old, live on Kangaroo Island in Australia and have had a pretty active life. I have IGA nephropathy and have been on PD for 2 weeks now. I have plenty of questions but will not ask them as yet because I would like to read through the forum to get to know what is on here. Besides, it is Christmas Eve and there are better things to do aren't there?

While I sit here, plugged in!!, I will have a bit of a read.

Welcome to our community, Graeme!  And a special welcome from a fellow Commonwealth member (from Barbados, now  living in the British Virgin Islands) and a contemporary (58)!  We have a great group of Aussies here already! This is an excellent place for information and support.  And it is more than just a website; it's a genuine family :grouphug;
The name 'Kangaroo Island' intrigued me and I googled it.  For those curious like me, here is a great link - http://www.tourkangarooisland.com.au/about/default.aspx   I would love to be able to go there (just dreaming....)  could you tell us more about life in Kangaroo Island in the Off Topic Section?
Graeme, please keep reading, and above all, keep posting.  Looking forward to hearing much more from you.

Thanks for all your welcomings!! :thx; This seems like a great place to visit while I plug in and recharge!

I did wonder about the name of the website... I guess we all hate being on dialysis but what is the alternative and where would we be without it?

It is sad to read of the many of you who are experiencing problems and it is fantastic the you have an outlet to vent your feelings and a huge knowledge base from which to draw from... huge cuedose to the moderators and others behind the site :2thumbsup;
