Hi.  I am new to this.  I started on dialysis in August of this year.  I had no warning that I had anything wrong.  I guess I am still adjusting to dialysis and my new "life style".  I feel frustrated and confused.  Thanks for providing a place where maybe I can learn more.

meow Cat. Looks like your avatar friend isn't following the renal diet too well!! :) Welcome and I'm sorry you've had such a rude introduction to the "wonderful"(ahem) world of kidney disease and dialysis. It will take time to adjust and hopefully we can help with questions and support you may have.

Cat,  I am glad you found us, but am very sorry for the rude introduction to kidney failure.  This is a great support group - we really do care about each other.   And there is so much information and knowledge here.   LOVE the avatar!   We have great members who are also in N. M.  Keep posting.  We are here for you.  :cuddle;

Hello New Mexico; Cat,    :cuddle;  Gald to hear from you!  I'm also from New Mexico from a snowy town called ABQ.   It snowed today and it's a snow day from school.   :yahoo;   It can be a lot of scary know that your kidneys aren't working anymore and a machine will have to do the working for them.   I've been on dialysis for two years and I'm still not use to it.  I still dread the time going in, but you know what?  Reading lot's of emails from this site really helps me cope with the problems and questions I have.   This is an Fabulaous site! :clap;
Good to have you! :welcomesign;

I grew up in Los Alamos, and we lived in ABQ for a couple years after we got married. Is adovada on the renal diet?

I been up to Los Alamos several times, gone to the Bandelier National Monument what a sight.  Wow! won't that be great if adovada was on the renal diet.  It's not, due to the red chile.  Of course everything in the Mexican food catagory is not on the renal diet and they make a point of it.   :urcrazy;   Nice to meet you Wallyz :waving;
