I sent him an e-mail, too.  Sure hope it is nothing serious.  This is a bad day.  First we find out
that Flip has died and now Chris is in the hospital, too.  I am praying for a better day tomorrow.

Today is his birthday - what a tough way to spend the day.
 :bestwishes;

I am emailing him again.

He left a message that he's getting IV antibiotics but it's making him nauseous. He also feels disoriented. They've scheduled a CT scan and colonoscopy. Poor guy sounds miserable.

Chris says it's tender where his transplanted kidney is. He said maybe CMV - man that would be a real bummer.

What does CMV mean?

here's a recent discussion on ihd:
http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=8934.0

I had not realized from what I read before that CMV could affect the kidney itself.  Most folks seem to end up with flu-like symptoms, although others here at IHD have reported very serious complications.  Chris mentions having had CMV before, so I am hoping that his previous experience helped him put his medical team on track to treat this very quickly.

GET BETTER SOON CHRIS!  :cuddle;

He's still hospitalized - looks like the main problem is the CMV Colitis (large intestines) (symptoms include diarrhea, cramps, rectal spasms, weight loss.)
Docs are concerned about the weight loss. Chris hopes he can go home Sunday.
He has received the emails and is most grateful for the good wishes.
