Great to hear that you are on the mend. Hopefully the swelling will resolve soon, and the aneurysm is now in the distant past.

I took a pillow everywhere with me for a week to keep the arm up after graft surgery. Looked kind of funny in a restaurant with a pillow under my arm, but it kept the swelling down. I hope you feel good soon !

Bajanne, I hope you are recovering nicely this evening. The swelling from the surgery can get quite bad. Mine was in the right thigh, but my entire leg swelled up and bruised (Hey kitkatz, did you beat me with that stik of yours during my surgery?!). It took about 10 days for mine to go away, but recovery on the lower appendages (the legs) is slower because they are dependent. Kitkatz has the right idea when she says to prop it up. You will be surprised how much it truly does help. I thought at first that I might be taking it too easy after my surgery, but I noticed better improvement on the days I kept my leg elevated. Wishing you a speedy recovery <333

Against my daughter's wishes I am back at work, today Thursday. Cruise ship dock until 3 p.m then French class at college 4 pm and then a spanish class with adults 6.30 to 7.30. Everything has gone quite well. I slept with a pillow under my arm and it has gone down slightly.
I had a little crisis this morning after about an hour at work. But it was probably due to the low blood sugar problem I have been having recently. a guy here brought my a bottle of juice and soon I felt much better. It is now 2.38 p.m. I will let you know if I made it until 7.30!!!

WHAT?! Are you saying that you went back to work the day after surgery on your graft? Oh you have got to be careful!! You need to keep that arm elevated, or it's not gonna heal very quickly. You can't have much real estate to work with on the graft for poking, and you're gonna need it to heal quickly so that you can use more of it.
I wish you well, but I don't think going back to work so quickly was such a wise decision. I hope you take it as easy as possible while you are there.

I made it through everything well. I got home in one piece and conducted both of my classes with no problems whatsoever.
However, I am finding it hard to go to sleep. that is why I am on the computer at 11.00p.m. I was in bed from 8p.m. but can't sleep. I will try again soon.

Glad it's all over and you are feeling as well as you are. However, do be careful and try
to get as much rest as can. You don't have to sleep to rest your body, but hope your sleep
problem will get better soon, too.
Love, Mimi

I'm not trying to lecture, but everyone here is concerned for a reason. That graft is your lifeline now and so you need to take extra special care of it. I don't know what your circumstances are, and you may feel you can't take the time off, but give it at least a few days to rest before getting back into the swing of things. Everybody (every body part) needs rest to keep on keepin' on. Ya know? Not trying to be critical or bossy, just want to see you have a good outcome with as few obstacles as possible. I hope you are sound asleep by now - ZZZzzzzzzzzz

Everything is doing fine. I went back to see the doctor Tuesday, and she was very pleased with the results. there is still a bit of swelling, but she says that will soon go down.
One good thing, I had no pain after the actual day of the operation. When I passed by the surgical ward a day or two ago, there was a prescription there for me for pain!!! Lucily I hadn't needed it.
The doctor says that the new section can be used after 3 weeks. She listened to it and it was buzzing correctly. She is very pleased with her work, and I am too!
Thanks for all your caring thoughts and expressions. I love my IHD family!!
