My doctor gave me the ok on Thursday to restart PD, and yesterday was my first day back on it. So far there have been no problems, and I hope this time everything goes well.

Hey Adam, I have a ? for you. Since you know about trains, do you think i could do pd while on a train for 12 hours at a time.  and do manual exchanges.

The only issue I see that could possibly be a problem is space in the locomotive cab for a day's worth of supplies. You would need at least one box of dialysate bags and tubing, plus things like gloves, masks, caps, etc. Is it just you and the conductor or do you have a brakeman usually? If you don't have anyone else in the cab besides the conductor, you might be able to find a place for your supplies, especially if you are on a wide cab unit. It would have to be a fairly clean environment, and everyone else on the unit would have to wear a mask when you are hooking up or unhooking (or I suppose you could do it in the "bathroom" on the engine if you could cram your supplies in there with you). I'm not sure what the railroad's policy is for crew members that have medical needs while working. Definitely something to look into.

Run8, I took the Amtrak train back to Branson, MO twice.  Each time my supplies were stored in an area which is used for overflow packages and luggage.  I just went down and got whatever I needed for the exchange I was doing.  Are you going to have sleeping quarters or be out in the general population?

Thanks Adam , it would be myself and the pencil pushing conductor.  Guess I could do it on the Second unit. The one thingthat would be of concern would be the supplies. I Think anyone that works for the railroad has medical needs or will eventually need  some. I think pd will work for the better in my case. I go Nov. 20th to see the surgeon.
