hello,
I am 41 woman in Finland and I am doing hemo at home. I have been doing dialysis for a 6 months now. I cannot say I like it but I it is not so bad. I do it every other night for 8 hours and I feel pretty good actually. Good thing is that I am expecting to get a new kidney from donator (dead one) within a year or so.  In Finland an average waiting time is 1 year and i have been on queue since may. it was nice to find this site. It would be also nice to talk to someone who does also hemo at home.

greetings from Finland!

So good to have you join us from Suomi (that's the Finnish for Finland, says Bajanne with a know-it-all look!)  We are really an international group, the one thing binding us is dialysis and/or kidney failure. I look forward to hearing some more from you.  This is really an extremely comprehensive site.  there is a place for complaining and venting, but also for telling jokes and playing games.  We don't only cater to renal patients, but also to their loved ones and caregivers and to the medical practitioners.  You cannot be bored on this site - there is to much to read and do.
Enjoy.
Maybe you will teach me to greet and respond in Finnish, so I can add that to my language collection!
