CAPD difficulties/resolved

OK , so I don't know if anyone is interested, but I just wanted to thank all of you for all of your old posts regarding CAPD.
You see, we are supposed to be going on a cruise Thursday but we were about to cancel because Chuck just couldn't get into the whole CAPD thing. ( and that's what he's got to do on the ship)
He could not understand why it was basically a 24hour thing. You know between drains and fills and dwells.
He was so uncomfortable and thought that this just was not the way it should be, but when I started to read to him ( he is blind and sometimes I forget that he doesn't get to read all the great information on this board) he began to realize that everyone else that does CAPD experiences the same things that he has been going thru as far as the uncomfortable bloating ,bowel problems, every 4 to 6 hours doing the exchanges etc.etc.
But, we were able to get some great tips and have made a few adjustments to his regimen and as of now, we are good to go.
So thank you, thank you, for sharing your experiences on CAPD and teaching me how to be a better caregiver to my dear husband.

So glad you have sorted it out . It is difficult at the start , but soon it becomes like making breakfast .. do dialysis .. making lunch ..do dialysis, till you actually just get into the routine.!

Thanks everyone for your wishes.
All packed and ready to go to Ft.Lauderdale, a day in advance of the sailing just to be sure that our supplies are on track and to make sure that we are in possesion of our luggage.
Chuck was so looking forward to doing the cycler tonight after doing manuals for the last few days. Thought it would be best to go on the machine tonight since we won't be able to do a manual till we arrive in Florida tomorrow night. I packed a few bags ( solution ) and all the other stuff I need, so hopefully I'll figure out how to hang the bag in the hotel room for an exchange tomorrow night. I could not break the IV pole down small enough to fit in any of our cases.
If I have access to a computer I'll try and post over on the travel section.
Thanks again!

Joannie, this might be too late, I hope not. How about a hanger? A wire hanger twisted to hold the bag while hanging from a bar/window sill (top)?

MyssAnne, I'll have plenty of hangers, ( I pack with all clothes on hangers for easy unpacking) so I'll just have to play around with them. I packed some of those over the door hooks. Maybe I can hang a hanger from them?
Anyhow, I'm sure I'll figure something out and I'll post while we are away. Let you and everyone else know how we are making out.
Thanks and have a great night!
