Sarcoidosis anyone?

So Wednesday afternoon I am minding my own business in the car on the way to get lunch. Started having chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, clammy feeling. All the classic signs of heart attack in females. I call 911 from the mall parking lot and am taken to the hospital by ambulance.
After a few hours in the ER, one CT scan, one echocardiogram, a crap load of blood work - no heart problems, but inflamed lymph nodes in my lungs. Pulmonary doc thinks it is sarcoidosis but is referring me to my normal pulmonary doc for followup just to make sure it isn't lymphoma. Cancer runs deep and long in my family so this is not a word I wanted to hear.
Had to stay in the hospital overnight and get dialysis yesterday. Forgot just how crappy one can feel after a four hour run. At least I am home now. Gave the NxStage machine a big kiss when I got home.
Anyone here have sarcoidosis? Is it being treated or just watch and wait?

Ack! Never had it and just popped over to say I hope whatever it is, it's treatable and won't trouble you much. How scary and what a horrible experience overall.

Oh gosh...what a scary experience! No, I know nothing about sarcoidosis, but it sounds evil.

nener heard of it, so i looked it up. "sarcoidosis is a disease in which inflammation occurs in the lymph nodes, lungs, liver, eyes, skin, or other tissues."

Apparently, according to my sister, it is often a differential diagnosis on the TV show "House".

I know this is an old thread but My Hubby has Sarcoidosis. Extra pulmonary sarcoidosis to be exact. He has no legions in his lungs but has them in his skin, heart and central nervous system. Did you get a diagnosis yet? Bear is not being treated with meds for this because of Hep. C . The prednisone can make it flare up. They changed his Pacemaker to one with a defibulator as a precaution. He had one flare up that caused double vision for 6 weeks but that resolved itself. The treatment is a course of big doses of prednisone, similar to the transplant meds and can save your life in an emergency situation. He had another autoimmune disease Wegeners Granulomatosis 17 yrs ago that took out his kidneys . The treatment is the same as what they do for Sarcoid. Rough to get through but saved his life and can put the disease into remission for a long time.
Wishing you the best of luck. Let us know how it turned out.
