dialysis cruise

I'm trying to learn how to use this website.  It seems that this can be an opportunity to have discussions that don't take place at my dialysis center.  I have been "at it" for a year.  I am fortunate that I am retired (60 years old).  I don't have any real financial issues.  I have had some real health issues, as I'm sure many have had.  Daibetes, heart attacks, amputation, etc... 

I'm beginning to feel the rythm of it all.  Dialysis every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.  I mostly don't feel well enough on dialysis days to do too much afterwards.  I wonder if others are the same?  I, generally, do feel terrific on other days. 

My wife, Diane and I, and 2 other friends have attempted to make reservations for a dialysis cruise.  We've tried twice and both cruises were canacelled.  Does anyone have any advice?

Welcome, Pago.  You'll find a lot of useful information here, and a lot of people who can answer your questions.  I've never tried a dialysis cruise myself, but it always sounded like a good idea to me.  Do they get canceled because not enough people sign up?  Maybe someone else here has been on a cruise.

hi Pago (Tim)  Welcome and i sure hope you, your wife and your friends get to go on your cruise soon,  always take the good with the bad, maybe there is a reason it keeps getting cancelled, just dont give up, your "ship" will come in soon    oh, and when it does, take lots of pics so you can share them with us k

dialysisatsea.com usually has a good selection of cruises available.  Maybe that's the route you took. 
I'd love to take one of the dialysis cruises - it would be a cool thing to do.  Last year opted to go to St. Maarten instead and found the hospital there really incredible.  The only thing - when you leave your own home - one bit of advice.  If you're going somewhere really hot - take that into account with your dry weight.  In warmer climes we tend to retain more fluid so your dry weight will go up.  I didn't take that into consideration and I won't even go into the description of the cramping that followed trying to get down to dry weight.  You'll also find your hands and feet/foot swelling more so make sure you have really okay shoes and clothes so you don't feel like you're in a straight jacket.
