Hello, everyone! I was searching some data on dialysis, then I found this forum. I live in Hungary. I was diagnosed with kidney failure last may. It was out of the blue, I had no kidney problems before, actually I lost about 90 pounds before that, so I was really happy with myself, that I felt so healthy, talk about ironic... then suddenly my eye sight was not as good as it used to be, so I went to the doctor, my blood pressure was 240. The same day it turned out that my kidney function is around 5 %, so I need dylasis right away. And now I'm on PD (I guess that's how you call it as well, the tummy dylasis
), and I feel much better now. HD was not good for me, I felt weak, I couldn't drink that much water etc. It's much better with PD. But you have to change the thing (sorry, my English isn't the best) every 6 hours. But for me, it's worth it. Right now I'm doing the pre tests so I could finally be on the transplant waiting list.
So this was my story, short version.
