Yucky snow, I hate it, I love it for Christmas and New Year's and then after that it can go bye bye til the next Christmas. LOL :rofl;
Well, we had been spoiled with nice weather .......til now :P We were lucky......
I live about an hour from Toronto and it's par for the course this year, but I always dread the cold and the snow. :rant;
One would think having lived in Canada all my life, I'd be used to the cold by now, but I've noticed since renal failure last year, with chronic kidney disease, I'm chronically cold so the cold outside always seems to make me feel........colder. :P
-
You're fortunate Cordelia. We've had 3 snow storms here already, and another in the queue for next week.
-
The first snow of the season hit here in Michigan yesterday. I had the same feeling. Uuuuuuuuggggghhhh! :P
-
Move to England!! We have (pathetic) snow about twice a year and both days (!) it manages to shut everything down. The media then bleats on about it for weeks. I'd love a bit of proper snow like you guys have!
;D
-
:rofl; yeah, we've been pretty fortunate ;D Quite the mixed bag of weather here today, wind, rain, sleet, snow. What next? LOL :rofl;
-
Come visit us here in Colorado Poppy, we'll show you some snow!
-
Arg.. if you got the snow it means it's heading my way (Ottawa).
Since renal failure I've been chronically cold as well, I've been drinking hot water since September.
And in the summer I was enjoying the hot weather, but I was still cold every day even in +30 weather after dialysis.
-
It hit us yesterday. It is not sticking so far. :clap;
-
North of us (about an hour away from us) got blasted, Friday..... They can keep it :rofl;
-
Snow is a four letter word! :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
I like to see one snow that covers the ground each year, and THAT IS IT! :rofl;
We are fortunate in Tennessee. We don't see very much of it. :2thumbsup;
-
Yup, that's what I say too, snow is a nasty four letter word! LOL :rofl;
-
Whaddya mean, finally???? Did you want it to snow?? *LOL*
At least you guys in Ontario got a summer. We froze our butts off down here in the Maritimes this summer. We had a little bit of snow on Friday, but it was mixed with the regular Remembrance day rain. By late Saturday morning, it was all gone.
-
we had about a cm of snow, but it has more or less melted by now. But over the weekend, it was chilly, close to -30 with the wind.
chinook rolling in this week, should warm things up - nice thing about living in alberta, chinooks roll in from time to time :cookie;

Riki, LOL :rofl; I can imagine you froze there! I had heard it was quite a bit cooler. It was pretty hot here in the summer. Ran my a/c straight for 6 weeks and then my air conditioner broke mid August ::)
It was beautiful here today, very sunny-cold but sunny, which I liked.......November hasn't really felt like a 'typical' November here this year, it's been unusually nice for November.....this month is usually typically a mix of this and a mix of that.
Mcclane, I lived in BC for a year ........I miss the winters out West

i think we can all agree, if you live in winnipeg you're sure to freeze during the winter months :rofl; :rofl;
-
You guys just want to make me jealous. Just 'cause you know it never snows here in the Caribbean. I LIKE SNOW!!! I WANT SNOW!!!!
-
LOL Mcclane, you're so right about that! ;)
LOL Bajanne, when we get a significant amount, I'll shovel some on down your way! LOL :rofl; :rofl;

I'll trade ya.. I've never been anywhere where it doesn't snow in winter.. Mom and I want to go somewhere warm for a vacation next winter, but we're unsure of the dialysis situation at many of the resorts. Mom wants to go to Cuba, but I couldn't find anything on dialysis there, and I want to go to Cozumel, but I couldn't find any information there either. Hmm.. since you live there, maybe you know of a better place for someone on dialysis to visit..
-
We're bracing for freezing rain tonight. It's extremely windy-and cold Brrrrrrr!
-
We're supposed to get 15-20cms tonight. I watched it coming down all afternoon through the window at dialysis
-
another chinook supposed to hit this weekend.
-
Well, we got hit with that freezing rain the other night, I was glad to be in. We were supposed to get some lastnight too but never saw it. I'm really glad I live a 2 minute drive from my hospital. ...that I don't live far to drive now since the move in March.
My backyard fence actually backs onto the hospital parking lot from my backyard. Don't know if the fence is mine or the hospital's. My lawyer couldn't even figure it out for me. I'd LOVE to know, all I would really need to do is cut out a section for a gate and voila! I'm right in the parking lof of the hospital, that is I I wanted to take a short cut walking. :rofl; :rofl;
On foot walking via the city streets, it's only a 10 min walk, it's great!
It's a bit foggy today and I can smell something brewing in the air, I just know we're gonna get something tonight likely----I need to check the weather channel! ;)
-
Most of the snow we got is melted now, except for where it was piled up from shoveling and plowing. There were some really nice piles in the parking lot where we watched the Santa Claus parade tonight. One kid was thinking, and was sitting on top of one of the snow piles to watch the parade. I don't think he was allowed to stay there, although he would have had a perfect view

I heard out East got hit
-
I don’t know what all of the fuss is about, I just looked out the window and the sky is clear, the stars are twinkling and the neighbor’s dog pooped on the patio again. It’s the same thing everyday, boring. California is like that.

Depending on where you are, I think we'd be considered "out east." I know that a lot in Alberta or BC, when they talk about the east, they mean Ontario, when there is much more east than Ontario.
Some places got hit good, I think I heard that Yarmouth, NS got 54 cms. We didn't get that much here, closer to 10cms. Enough to be a pita.

anything past manitoba is east for us :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
-
:rofl; The province of Quebec and anything East of Quebec is considered Eastern Canada to us :rofl;
Any provinces West of us, we consider Western Canada ;D
LIght snow during the night lastnight has made the drive to work for commuters slppery this am, I think I'm gonna wait to go outside until the salters and sanders are out this morning ;D
-
it's been too warm here to snow, but it was really windy yesterday..
-
had just a light dusting this morning, nothing to rave home about. I would like a white Christmas. But maybe we won't have it.
-
I should have took some pictures while I was in Pictou County, NS today. If the snow they got there sticks around, they'll have a white Christmas for sure. The walk had to be shoveled from my grandparents' building. There was a good 2-3 inches of snow down.
-
had about 3 cms on sunday morning, but it is pretty much melted now.
-
He said, "I can look out the window and check the weather," and he leaned carefully, parting the sheer curtain. Suddenly he stood, then shouted, "You dogs get outta here!!"
He ran to the front door, opened and crashed through. By biow the two dogs ran away, startled by the abrupt interruption. But they left something on the patio. It was recognizable even from a distance and it was twice the usual amount.
He gazed in the direction of the dogs and muttered, "they're over-feeding these anilmals."
He knew where the shovel was and as he went for it he thought, "I wish it would snow. It might be too cold to leave deposits on the patio." He had a passing thought, "I might sneak over to the neighbor's pation and leave my deposit. Naaaaw! I already moon Amtrac," and the thought passed into the ether, perhaps to return some day. Tomorrow most likely.
Life in California where the weather is good and the dogs are healthy.
-
It snowed here again today, and I think I caught a chill going between the dialysis unit and the car. I haven't felt well since I got home, but I was fine before I left the unit. I have a slightly elevated temperature, and when I say slightly elevated, I mean .1 degree Celsius above what it should be, at least, the last time I checked.
I hate snow
-
I don't remember writing the post (two up). Am I going nuts?
It doesn't even make sense.

:rofl; I thought that too, the first time I read it. I thought it was just a poke at us who have to winter in the cold places..
-
Gotta love this crazy Ontario, Canada weather ::) :rofl;
Two days after Christmas, we got a major dumping of snow......lasted for like one day.....THEN, we get a huge amount of rain, washes it all away and now.......it's snowing again :rofl;
-
it's done a lot of raining here too. I haven't been outside since Friday, so I don't know if there's any snow left or not
-
No rain here in December, our wettest month of the year. Same as the year the forest fire burnt down the house.
Local argument: Did our house burn up, or did it burn down?
-
Snowing here now pretty steady. The sun comes out briefly, then it clouds over, then we get some more.
-
Our hundred year annual rainfall is around 65 inches. So far we have 6.1 inches. A big old storm approaches the coast then it divides. Snake bit.

It burned. End of argument. *LOL*
It's been raining off and on all day. At one point, I checked the Weather Network on my phone, and it said that it was 8C, which is spring weather. It seems weird to not have any snow down, and have the ground not frozen. I sunk in the driveway going to the car this afternoon
-
I'm an hour north of Chicago, and we're finally getting some snow. I kinda liked the 50 degree weather we've been having all winter. But that's just me, having recently moved back into the area from LA. Bleah.
-
I'm an hour west of Chicago, and snow is great if you're not the one who has to shovel it. I don't know why that task always seems to fall to me. My husband's from here, but I'm from Houston, and I don't do snow. That should be my ticket out of shovelling. Sadly, that ticket don't fly. ::)
I've considered whining that shovelling isn't good for my fistula, but why bother...the drive would still not get shovelled.
-
Moosemom, he might then get you a snowblower instead of having to shovel :rofl;
The snow was very wet in Chicago today, but by the time I got to Naperville it was sticking pretty good and then by the time driving further south out of Naperville, it was snowing a lot more and sticking pretty good. I like it, just hate that it is very cold in the low 20's.
-
I was lucky enough to be able to buy into a senior community when I moved back (I'm not 55 yet), and they do all the shoveling. Lucky for me!
-
It started snowing here about 7:30pm and was supposed to turn to rain around midnight. I don't know if it did or not. I haven't checked. It's about 3:15am here now.
This weather is just strange. I'm used to a January thaw, but it didn't really freeze. Has me a little worried about what February will bring. Probably a couple of good dumpings like last year, that made the snowbanks taller than me, and it was sometime in May before it was all gone.
The shoveling tends to go to my mom. I can't really do it cuz I don't have the stamina, and like MooseMom said, it's not good for the fistula. Plus, I'm too slow. *LOL* Dad and my bro have their own driveways to shovel, so they won't come here and help Mom.
-
IT's been none stop in Eastern ontario since yesterday, a mixture of freezing rain, rain and snow. So glade I have the day off work but I still need to head to dialysis tonight.
-
I live in Ontario. Yeah.......ONTARIO, C A L I F O R N I A ! Only snow we get is the ones you buy from some shady guy in a dark alley and you snort it up your nose.
-
I was scheduled to pick up my nephew from school today. We actually just had the first real snow of the year here in Michigan, and the lucky boy got a snow day! He's off snowboarding instead of school. Ahhhh, I remember those days. When you prayed for the worst storm ever so you could stay in bed...
