Title: Look at our numbers
Post by: willowtreewren on November 09, 2011, 08:53:23 AM
Has anyone else noted that we have surpassed 6500 members?

What a milestone. I was watching it at 6496 and then it jumped all the way to 6503!

There are a bunch of US here at IHD!

 :cheer: :bandance; :clap; :yahoo;

I tell every medical professional I meet about IHD! Most sound enthusiastic about the idea once it's explained to them. Last week I met my transplant nephrologist for the first time and he was familiar with IHD and loves it.

We all need to keep spreading the word. IHD was a God-send for me!

Thanks IHDers!  :beer1;

It's funny how something can be perceived so differently. A year ago I was very depressed watching the member count go up. In my mind it was like a death sentence. Each new member was someone that would be tortured to keep them alive.  :Kit n Stik; Well I wont go into the rest of the dark thoughts.

I wish we didn't have any members, if it meant no one had ESRD. But it is real and we need this place to gather and talk. We need the comfort and the wisdom provided here. And we need this place to express feelings: the good, the bad, and the irrational.

I am a glad that more people are finding this forum everyday,  but I wish they didn't need to find IHD.

oh, i totally agree, wish IHD would become obsolete too.  I am thankful for this forum, it lets us share ideas and talk about what we hate the most, dialysis.

We'll just keep growing until it's gone.

Then we can have a veterans group instead.

oh jbeany.. that would be awesome!!

I'm glad this place is here.  It's been a Godsend for me over the last few years.  Just knowing that I'm not alone, and other people are going through the same things that I am, helps so much.

There are 300,000 people in the US on dialysis, I don't know how many worldwide. When I see our membership increase it makes me happy that patients are finding support and knowledge. That's my perspective anyway.

That is my take, too, OKarol! I'm not glad that anyone needs IHD, but I'm glad it is here for those who do!
