Post by: Gryphon on July 20, 2011, 04:28:37 PM
Hi every one, obviously I'm new to this site. I have been on in center hemo since march 31st of 2011. I have BP related ESRF. This coming Friday will be my last day of work. I tried to keep working but with all the time I miss do to my illness, I don't get enough hours to make ends meet.

I'm looking forward to making new friends here and sharing info.

Hi Gryphon and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you found us.  I had to quit work too.  That was a sad day for me.  I'd rather be working.  But, I do okay.  I volunteer a couple of different places and that keeps me feeling productive.

I hope you like our site.  Please come back.

I'm in Anchorage, but only for another 2 weeks, then I'm going down to Seattle for approx 6 weeks to visit family and get worked up for a possible transplant someday at the university hospital. Seattle is the closes place that does transplants. then in Sept. i will be coming back to Alaska to settle in a little coastal town called Homer.  If you have see the TV show "Deadliest Catch" Homer is where the Time Bandit docks and calls home. I have met the guys from that boat, pretty nice people.

Thanks to  everyone for the welcomes also... I have been reading this site for a couple weeks now and have already learned a lot and in the future hope to be able to offer help from my own experiences.

Sorry about the loss of job. But Yay! for the transplant work up!

I've always wanted to go to Alaska too, but I'm in England so can say that about most American states.

Hi Gryphon and welcome!   :welcomesign;   This is a great place to interact with others in the renal failure world and get the straight scoop from patients and caregivers.  I'm looking forward to seeing your posts.

BTW:  Deadliest Catch is my fav show and the Hillstrands are the best!

Welcome Gryphon! So glad you have joined us!  The people here are full of info that may be benificial to your situation!  Don't just come to tell of your experiences but come ask questions about anything.  I have found that if we are told by doctors that this and that has to happen, I come to this site and inquire about it and have found out more about things that I never would have known!  This coming from people who have been through it!

Personally, anything regarding health issues, I come and ask here about it, and generally someone on this site has either gone through or knows someone who has gone through it.  IHD is here for you!  The creator of this site was a genious! He had his ducks in a row and left a powerful legacy for all to use and all while on dialysis!  Simply Amazing!

You let us know how things are going, ok?

God Bless you and hope you keep posting with us!

P.S. Husband stopped work in Jan. this year.  It really became difficult for him but he did work 6 1/2 years while dialysising! Not bad, if you ask me!
