Hi Casper the friendly ghost.  Where are you from.  Do you dialyze on the machine or PD?  In center or at home?  So glad you joined us.

Thank you all for the wonderful welcome! I've been feeling so alone for so long, I'm so happy I found this site! I was delinquent in giving you more information about myself.
I am from Wilmington, Delaware and do in center dialysis. My kidney failure is due to anorexia, and uncontrolled high blood pressure. I carry a lot of guilt because I sped up the process of my failure, and I could have had more time without dialysis.
I thank you again for the warm welcome and hope I answered some of your questions.
Smiling in Delaware,
Casper2636

Casper, you aren't alone now.   There are lots of us and someone is always here.  I come here at all kind of odd hours.  And the best part is, you don't have to explain because we are all in the same boat!    So glad you found us!!    :cuddle;

phew Casper that must be hard having that guilt about your condition and speeding it along. I think there are a few in that boat out there. All I can suggest is to try to not look backwards - what's happened has happened and there's not much you can do about it. What you can do now is to make the most of what you have and take steps to keep yourself healthy and well enough to potentially receive a transplant in the future(if you're able to). So keeping to the diet, doing exercise etc, are all things that can help you maintain a healthy body(apart from the kidneys, of course!) and also active doing things other than just dialysis. I know, easy for me to say, hard for you to do. Hang in there!!

Hmm Delaware huh. A state I have not been to. I must add it to my list(my aim is to visit all of them in my life, I did about half before dialysis got in the way). Maybe I'll have to come visit you when I'm able and you can show me how friendly you are (wait, that sounds wrong...  :rofl;) and show me the state :)

Again, welcome to IHD!  :grouphug; :grouphug; :grouphug; :grouphug;

You are more than welcome.
Do not blame yourself anymore! You can now take a positive stand and your future is in your hands.
You will never feel judged or alone with this crowd.

Hi Casper, and :welcomesign;

Ah, someone else familiar with food issues! I was a long term anorexic myself, but feel I am entirely over that now - hope you are able to say the same. To be honest, I think the anorexia and troubles surrounding that were much more difficult for me than kidney failure, so congrats to you for making it this far. No need to blame yourself. There is no such thing as living a perfectly healthy life, we all do the best we can at the time. Please be very aware of your PTH, as with anorexia you would be at increased risk of osteoporosis anyway and kidney failure can be murder on the skeleton.

I am glad that you found IHD and look forward to getting to know you better! :flower;

Welcome to our community, Casper!   Really glad that our found us.  I have to reiterate many things that others have already said.
1.  Now you are never alone.  If you allow us, we will be with you all the way.
2.  Most of us have to admit that we were in some way responsible concerning speeding up our kidney failure.
Having said that, the good part is that you are now part of a wonderfully caring and sharing, genuine family  :grouphug;  Just keep reading and keep posting so that we can know how you are doing.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
