I have been thinking a lot lately about Karol and her family. Not in an overwhelming way but I realized that not a lot of people here understand what all Karol is going through in her life. I'm not going to say it all here but I just want everyone here to send some thanks and an encouraging word to Karol either here in this thread or PM. She is dealing with probably more than most of us have had to deal with lately and yet she comes here regardless, to take care of IHD and its members. No one loves you all or this site more than Karol I can promise you this.
Love you Karol and Thank you for everything you do here on IHD. It will never go unappreciated. :grouphug;
-
:grouphug; :grouphug; :grouphug; :grouphug; You always have a way of making me feel better.
-
Concur. She is always informative.
-
Absolutely right on the money Sluff. I think of her as a good friend even though we've never met in person (I feel this way about many other members too) and I wish I could lighten the stress she's under currently by even a little bit.
Thanks Karol for all you do...for IHD and for awareness about kidney disease, for members individually and for showing, by example, how to lend support not only to your family and friends but indeed to complete strangers. :cuddle;
-
I appreciate her always having a kind word for everyone. :flower; :flower; :flower; :flower; :bandance;
THANK YOU!!
-
Yep...
Kerol's always been very supportive to me when Mum's not well...
Hope everything works out for you and Jenna, Karol
-
Thank You Karol, for all that you do. You are truly appreciated!
-
Karol, hon, you are a gem!
When I was in the hospital, she called, sent cards, and even took time out of her trip to Paris to send me a post card and best of all, light a candle for me in Notre Dame. How cool is that?
-
Okarol is the best!!!
-
Okarol is a friend. And I have met her. She takes really good care of us, even though she has a lot going on right now. Hugs my friend. :grouphug; :grouphug;
-
I too have met Karol. She always makes you feel as if you are old friends. We do appreciate everything she does for us, not only in the information field, but her compassion for others, no matter what is going on in her own life.

Well said Sluff! Totally agree with you. Karol often puts aside the stuff she has to deal with, which is considerable, to put into IHD, and support our members as much as she can- and most of it without a lot of thanks or appreciation shown. This is one way to show it! Thanks for taking the lead Sluff!
3 cheers for Karol!!! Hip Hip Hooray! :bow; :bow; :bow; :bow;

I wish there was a more concrete way we could be of more practical help to Karol and her family. If anyone can think of anything, let me know. I know about Jenna having difficulty keeping her transplant, but I confess to not knowing if there are other complications in Okarol's life. ESRD rarely happens in a vacuum, and it tends to just exacerbate other difficulties and make them that much harder to deal with. But Okarol always has time for all of us, and that is a rare thing; I appreciate her so much and wish I could do more to help. Thank you for starting this thread; it is always nice to show our gratitude. Thank you, Okarol, for everything. You know we have your back. All our love to Jenna and the rest of your family, too. Life is not easy for any of you, we know. Please let us support you in any way you see fit.
-
Thanks Karol for everything you do for this site.
I particularly like all of the articles you find and post. I appreciate all of your work here and the efforts you give to all of us, even when your own life must be so filled with issues.

:'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Ok that made me cry. Thanks so much.
I know life is not always smooth, but with Jenna's rejection, my mom's lung cancer, the economy affecting my kids employment, and having another daughter all the way in NY at college, it's a rollercoaster lately. Then, of course, I worry about all of you, and Jenna's donor, and other family members... eeek, start listing stuff and it can make you crazy! :urcrazy;
:thx; Thanks for the kind words. Thank you Sluff, for being my rock.
I love you all. :-*

:beer1; To Okarol.
Who can find the good in everyone :2thumbsup;

A toast to okarol! :beer1; :flower; :flower; :flower;

We love you! :flower; Thank you for spending your time on us.

Best wishes!

Want to add my hugs too! Seriously, does anyone have as many posts as Okarol?! Amazing, caring, and thoughtful woman who brings comfort and answers to everyone on IHD.
I pray things start smoothing out for you and your family.

I agree. I get a lot of good info from Karol to give to my support group. Thanks for all your good work, Karol, in spite of what is going on in your life.

I've told her before, but she won't listen, She should take a break or a vacation from the pc, but she is addicted to it ;D
If she was on Survivor (If that show is still around), she would be the first to try to be kicked off so she can have computer access to keep in contact with everyone. :rofl;
Your much appreciated around here Karol, but family and you come first. Take a break at times and get as much rest as possible.
-
don't get on here to often, but agree wholeheartily :bow;
sorry to hear about jenna

I just said yesterday we need to guve you an award. I don't know how you have the energy to do all you do. You are a most lovely helper and friend. Prayers and cares to you, Jenna and the rest of your family.
Love, Mimi

Everyday I plan on posting here. But, I keep trying to find the right words. I feel like Okarol has been a part of my life forever. She is always just a click away. We have shared some special moments together. Sluff's Vegas wedding! Holding hands during Goofynina's service. We were holding tight and crying and then after the nun said "Jeesuuuuussss" for the 100th time, we started giggling! You know how it is when you are so incredibly sad and something strikes you as funny and you just can't help but smile? That is what happened to us. Vandie was there and was doing the same thing! I have met Jenna and she has met Beth, so we feel very connected as Mothers. And who could forget Chicago? Chris and Patton with all the phones, GPS's and laptops! Simply put - I love Okarol. She has made this disease so much easier to deal with. She is my Hero, my inspiration and guiding light. I would walk through fire for her. My heart aches for the trials she's going through right now. I lift her in prayer and ask God to hold her tight right now.

Very beautifully expressed, Paris. It brought tears to my eyes (as well as a smile).
I just love my IHD family!!

How amazingly loved you should feel :-) I hope life is giving you some rest by now and that it's looking up. Bless ya, and thank you for all you do and share of yourself... Amazing woman, mother, friend... Thanks!

Just saw this thread and what fun it was to read it.
OKarol - smile for your are so loved by so many, including me. You touch people's lives in ways you don't even know about. You are one big solid rock for IHD.
Thank you OKarol for everything you do for this online community. :thx; :thx; :thx;
-
I just took look at this again, made me smile. :)
We do what we do here on IHD because we love all of you!
There's nothing like the support and understanding you get from someone who has been in your place.
The forum would be nothing without the mods and members who participate here.
And the fact that we can laugh and cry together makes it even better.
Have a great day IHD!!! \ :flower;

Just read this thread and I wholeheartedly agree with all the posts. Karol is the rock of IHD. I've had telephone conversations with her and she has a knack of making you feel completely at ease. Karol for all you do for IHD, a big thank-you. If you were in England I'd nominate you for an MBE.
-
:2thumbsup; Thanks Ken!
What's an MBE? :secret;
-
Member of the British Empire - one of the highest honours a commoner can get. The other one is OBE - Order of the British Empire. Don't remember which is higher. When we were a colony, we would listen out to hear who got one of these from the queen.
-
Well, Ken, what an honor! :shy;
:thx; Thanks for the info Bajanne!
