AlohaBeth got a text saying he was being admitted and that there was more than one problem. One being Strep throat. I will post more when she hears anything.
Lot so prayers and love for our sweet Chris :grouphug; :grouphug;
-
I heard from him too. I think it's good he's at the hospital - he'll get some care and fluids and maybe a little rest too.
-
I think we all wanted him to go days ago. I am glad, too, that he is getting the care he needs. We all just worry about him,don't we?
-
I hope Chris is OK - at least he is able to keep folks informed!!!!
-
Thanks for letting us know. Best wishes Chris!
:pray;
-
Does he have internet access? It showed him viewing this thread earlier. I hope he gets well soon!

Oh Chris, I'm thinking you must have a vested interest in that hospital stock by now. Please get well soon. Your friends miss you lots.

Any updates on Christ????
-
Any updates on Christ????
No updates on Christ, but I did get an email from Chris. ( :rofl; Only teasing - I've made that typo myself!)
I hope it's OK with him to post some of it here. And I quote: "No strep, but C- diff positive and waiting on other test results.Checking for swine flu also, so in isolation. Potassium was extremelyhigh for some reason."
He said typing on his PDA makes him nauseated, so I hope he lays off the electronics until he's feeling better. (Hear that, Chris?)
Feel better soon, Chris. Much chocolate coming your way when you get out of there. I am hoping they can diagnose and fix whatever it is SOON.
:bestwishes;
-
er I think Chocolate is the last thing poor Chris will be needing right now with high potassium!!!
Still the thought is sweet... now if only AlohaBeth can deliver it in person!!! :rofl;
hang in there chris!!!
-
Hopefully they will pinpoint it soon so Chris can get better and get home.
-
Sorry about the typo in your name CHRIS... but I do hold you in high esteem! lol Continue to get better.
-
Feel Better, Chris! People are Rooting for You.

I hope he feels better soon!! :cuddle;

I hope you feel better soon chris- you sure are missed around here. I am sorry you feel lousy- :grouphug; :grouphug;
-
Any news on the man?
Hope you feel much better very soon.
-
I heard from him yesterday. They had tried giving him his immunosuppressants in the hospital and he finally got the non-generic tablets, after refusing the generic ones. He said he is now glad to be in the hospital because he is exhausted.
Get better soon Chris! :cuddle;
-
Thanks Okarol,
Please tell him I say hurry up already, :flower; and get better.
-
oh come on karol! We all know Chris has been exhausted from texting AlohaBeth long into the night...... :rofl;
hang in there big fella!!! :2thumbsup;
-
Thinking about you Chris, get well soon.
-
Be strong, be well.
:beer1;
-
Chris, Are you home yet? Stop lazing around and come back. I need someone to talk to. lol
-
Chris posted recently on facebook:
Can't post on IHD for some reason. Still in isolation, frequent flyer miles to washroom is lower, energy still low so working on that. Thought of getting c-diff by doctors is from me being on amoxicillin and it killing off the probiotic bacteria. In other words kids, it's bad to get wisdom teeth removed....lol
-
Yes. I had all four removed abiout 5 years ago because the docs here made a extra comment that it was a MUCH better idea to do it before going on dialysis or getting close to a transplant as dental health is VERY important post transplant - I guess this is an area where it is very easy to get an infection :(
Chris hoping you can hang in there and get better soon!!
-
I had all four wisdom teeth removed a couple of years ago in prep for transplant. The dentist did them two at a time.
-
I didn't used to believe in extra parts. I have my appendix, tonsils and all of my wisdom teeth. NOW I do believe in extra parts...an extra kidney that is. :rofl;
Chris, hope you get better VERY soon.
-
Chris, are you back?
-
off his facebook, dan: "Dan, I'm still in the hospital to answer your question on IHD. Shouldbe out before my birthday."
-
Chris when is your birthday? Now listen to me, you hurry and get out of that hospital. We all miss you.
-
Please be assured of my caring thoughts and prayers. GET WELL SOON! Your IHD family misses you :grouphug;
-
I looked on IHD calendar and Chris isn't on the rest of this month. Is he saying he'll be gone a lone time? I asked him on FB. See if he answers. Chris, I have computer questions. Come home. (not really, mainly I just miss you.)
-
According to facebook, his birthday is November 12th. So this coming....Thursday?
-
Thanks Jess... The same a Richardmel? Every female on IHD and Facebook will be "busy" that day...
-
I miss you too Chris. Hurry back.
-
Thinking of you Chris....
Get well soon..
God bless...
Darth...
-
Get well soon!
-
How are things today? It is almost your birthday and we want you to be home to celebrate! Praying each day is a little better :cuddle;
-
I got out after dark because I had to wait on transport to take me down (I hate that policcy). So I finally got out around 5:30 pm and had to go to the pharmacy to get some meds. When I got home, I had to prefill my pill boxes for the week aand after that fell asleep.
I have a home health nurse coming tomorrow to start checking up on me for a couple weeks or more depending how I am doing. Then hopefully the pharmacy will have the rest of my meds in.
Suppose to follow a special diet for awhile, but I still do not understand it and dietician was not helpful when I asked questions.
-
:bandance; Chris is back! :bandance;
:yahoo;
-
Hey Chris, hope you're feeling better man!

:bandance; :bandance; :bandance; :bandance;
Wohooo! I don't have to buy a big bubble so I can go in isolation and break you outta that place!
:bandance; :bandance; :bandance; :bandance;
-
Good to see you, Chris...
Glad to see you home safely!...
Darth...

Still waiting on home health care nurse to come. All the pills I have to take now won't fit in pill box. I could have had a free one earlier this year when they were giving them out, but didn't take it because it was from a pharmacuetical company I don't use and passed by. Hind sight always 20/20 though.
Today I'll do laundry from hospital stay, swep the carpet due to cat's laying fur patches from horsing around, and may go to pharmacy to pik up the rest of my meds. Also need to update my meds list on my pc.
Might as well have gotten me one of those bubbles, I could not leave the rom to walk the halls and they wanted me to walkaround in the small room. Bathroom breaks counted to me, laps around room would like being doing the two step, 4 at the most in one direction. GI doc tells me I need to gain weight to heal better and fight off infections and I'm thinking N.S. Sherlock, but have been this way for years. Thanks for telling me something I did not know :sarcasm;
This was a weird hospital stay in many respects. First day the midight nurses is arguing to me that I shouldn't be there and should have gone to my transplant hospital. Nothing like putting down the people you work for and the doctors you work with, Hospital now using generic immunosuppressants, yet some da's they give me the brand name. Lat day my local neph finally comes in and not her associate and puts on the chart finally not to use generic which her associate would not due. So now she's on my sh** list of docs :2thumbsup; :rofl; Like comeon you have that authority when you write a prescription, you have that same ability in the hospital. I don't want to go through some side effects that I may not ave had before and my transplant center does not want us switching because we are so far out. The center only will allow new tx patients to switch to generic since they just had their tx.
I did tell my doctor about the nurse who then brought in a hospital associate and then told them want happened. The hospital asked what was the name of the nurse and I said at 12 am I have no idea nor could I see the name on the whiteboard and I felt like crap! So they had to actually do some paperwork to find out. And this hospital is usally good to me, but even with this incident, still better than going to transplant center.
Thanks for all the replies :2thumbsup;
-
Your experience makes me realize that if a transplant patient gets hospitalized they should probably bring in their immunosuppressants with them, to avoid this conflict.
-
es, I will do that from now on if I plan to go there. I never had the problem before even last month when I was there. It irritates me when the nurses read off your meds as they put them into a cup and call it by the brand name when it is the generic form. There's a difference between the two especially in size and clor, not to mention how it's made.
-
Glad your back home Chris, take care.
-
Good to have you back where you belong!

I don't call her or text her much, I don't want to bother her, she's a busy woman. It was the only way I could get to paris. Yes I do have the upper hand, I do have a couple numbers of other women on IHD. East, Midland, and West Coast. :rofl; :shy; :rofl; However you do know a couple over there.
-
Come on boys, don't fight over women on your Birthdays. You both seem to have enough to share anyway.
-
And after all, guys, you share a birthday. :rofl; :rofl;

I just thought of a tattoo to get if I ever do get one after trying to save an arm band that says "Do Not Use This Arm" in bright orange due to having a graft and fistula in my left arm. However the wrist area is very sensitive and I might not make it through just the start of the outline.
-
My hubby's birthday was the 13th of November, close enough to be an IHD.com Romeo?
