I think Jon Stewart does more substantive interviews than what you'll see on the cable news channels. I watch the cable news but when O'Reilly talks to Rep. Franks or Maddow talks to the guy from Americans for Prosperity, I don't think it is as informative as when Stewart talks to Bolton.
So I was happy to read this article from New York magazine http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2009/08/why_conservative_pundits_love.html (http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2009/08/why_conservative_pundits_love.html) that quotes leading conservatives - Bolton, Cliff May, Bill Kristol - as saying they think Stewart does a good job.
I think the many anchors at all three of the cable channels should learn from Stewart's style for interviewing people who he does not agree with (I think the article is right that Stewart isn't as good with people who are closer to him politically).
It would be very useful if there was someone like Stewart on the Right that could regularly interview people they politically disagree with that was enjoyable to watch and informative. I think William F Buckley did this, granted in a much more high brow way than Stewart, but still I think people who disagreed with Buckley enjoyed talking with him. Is there anyone on the right like that today?

I like Stewart interviewing style. I find that I am entertained and happy no matter what the subject is... Whereas O'Reilly can be entertaining as well... but I feel way more uptight when watching the endless spins on every subject..... I certainly would like to see more right side type of personalities out there .... David Letterman I guess is the closest...... I still watch him.....as I have for years......

I love Jon Steward, I love American politics , well 1/2 of them anyhow, and he is so smart in the way he interviews... very smart man indeed
I used to watch CNN, but to be honest, it bores me to pieces when you are rammed down your throat :puke; that you should think the way the interviewer thinks. They never assume that you could make an informed choice if given just the facts, no spin involved

Kudos to comedy central, colbert, and the daily show.

Though Colbert and Stewart are both liberal I believe They see the see the need for "bipartisan news relief"

The best news shows I ever watched were in Paris. When everything is spoken in French, it doesn't sound as bad. :rofl; :rofl;
I like Jon Stewart's style also. :2thumbsup;
