Had bloods today creatinine went up quite a bit from 136 to 158, the highest its ever been. i have been haveing weird water blisters on my legs and maybe the cause of the creatinine going up.
anyways doc says it maybe a "very mild" form of rejection....
i was due to start working soon, and get my life in order and now this happens.
Scheduled a ultrasound tommorow and a possible biopsy after that!!
i dunno what to say.... i just want to sit and cry :'(

Understand your concern.
Hope that it turns out to be something very simple.
Good luck on the 23rd.
-
Gentle hugs for you draven :cuddle;
Tell the doc you want to be tested for
CMV too.
-
Awww I hope it's not serious, there's so much they can do now. But it must be tough, feeling like this are getting easier - now this. Hang in there draven! :grouphug; :grouphug; :grouphug;

Sorry to hear this, Draven. That does seem to be a mild elevation, but any rise in creatinine is alarming. Rejection of some type is extremely common in the first year. I had it six months post-transplant, and my kidney lasted 30+ years. My two rejection episodes only took a week or so to fix in each instance. I hope you can continue with your plans to get back to work soon.
Best of luck. Let us know how you're getting on.
:flower;

Just adding my best wishes. :cuddle;
-
Wishing you al the very best, Draven...
Hope it all works out...
I'll be thinking of, and praying for you...
God bless...
Darth...

:grouphug; Sorry you are going through this Draven.
-
It's scary when your labs change. Let's just pray there isn't an underlying reason for the rejection. Hopefully it's just a medication thing. :cuddle;
-
I'll be thinking about you Draven. Hoping everything gets sorted out very soon.
-
Hope everything gonna be ok.Keep you in my prayers.Keep us posted. God Bless!!...Chris

:grouphug;
Thinking about you. And hoping this is just a little bump in the road to a long lasting kidney.
-
Thinking of you. Hopefully it's just a minor glitch.
-
Im sorry, I hope it isn't anything big and it can be taken care of fast...Take care :cuddle;

Draven....
I don't know what to say but... I am going to say hang in there... I am thinking of you and I really hope that it is just something small that they can quickly take care of.
Keep us posted.

Lots of good thoughts coming your way draven.

Thanks for the support guys, was really down yesterday.
OK just got back from doc, had a ultrasound done on kidney
and doc says kidney "looks and is doing fantastic" there are no signs of rejection at all!!!!!! :yahoo;
He spoke about blood flow is perfect and the graft looking excellent, doc believes the creatinine levels are abit
high because of this rash/blisters on my leg. the cream i was taking is also know to raise creatinine levels. so had to stop taking it immediately.
So the plan is to drink a ton of water and take another blood test tomorrow. i then have an appointment to
see the dermatologist on Monday. hopefully this will solve the problem. otherwise doc says a biopsy will be needed!!!
will keep you guys posted on the results
-
:rofl;
Drink a ton of water.
Dialysis patients arnt use to hearing that one.
Glad the kidney is doing its job as it should be. You must be very relieved.
-
drink half that ton for me, then another half :)
I'm glad draven all seems well with your "little bean"!!!! I think it's important to remember also that lots of people get mild rejections from time to time and the meds these days are usually good enough to deal with it so even if you ARE told you'd get some sort of rejection it's certainly not the end of the world.
Anyway drink up!!! plenty of ice in the water... yum!
-
So glad the news was good. :2thumbsup;
-
What a relief!!!!!
-
Just saw the thread.
Sorry to hear Draven and hope dermatologist can give you answers to cause and a treatment.
-
Took bloods again today, and..... my creatinine is down :yahoo; its now 135 from 158.
going to see dermatologist on monday and taking more bloods on wednesday,
but things are looking better ;D
-
Great news, Draven! :yahoo;
-
awesome!!!!
I remember a long time ago (like 10 years) my neph telling me not to go nuts over changes in creat like that because they tend to shift around a bit between labs just based on the time of day the labs are taken, what you've eaten, and all that kind of thing... so the numbers moving around a little bit didn't really mean the end of the world right away - it was more about progressions and trends over time.
Anyhoo.... the main thing is you are feeling relieved and hopefully more confident about stuff. Your "little bean" maybe has been taking it easy, but is getting back on the case again I feel!!! :)

slight update
i went to dermatologist today, and had a skin biopsy. not too bad.
will find out what this skin infection is in a day or two.
-
Ok creatnine went up again to 150 and went on thursday for biopsy on kidney, was not to bad.
tests came back and kidney is fine, no signs of rejection. there are early signs of toxicity from meds.
so will start lowering doses or change from prograf to rapamune.
-
No news on skin biopsy so you probably will find out Monday or Tuesday I'm thinking?
-
Hi
the results for the skin biospy showed i had a mild form of impetigo. not sure where i got it. but it is starting to clear up.
-
I have to Google that to find out about that one.
-
...oh..thank goodness!...
When my youngest first went to school, that bug
got to her in the first week. ugh...on her face
Start carrying hand sanitizer and do not
be hesitant about requesting other people
wash their hands before they touch you.
Now...how's the work situation?
-
Ok, its been a while, but i got my Blood results yesterday and everything is back to normal. my creatnine is down to 117 which is perfect. it was definetly prograf that needed switching. with regards to the skin infection that has totally cleared up.
my question is, has anyone had blister or blemishes on the skin that seem to leave marks that dont go away or heal. i know the
immunosuppresents play a role.
Thanks once again for all the help and support guys. what would i do without you
:thx;
-
Great news draven!
-
Are you on steroids? A few of us have had problems with sores and we think it might be connected with steroids. Don't really know though.

Wonderful to hear, draven.
In answer to your question about marks, I have not had this specific problem. When I get a bruise, they last forever, and I am told this is due in part to the immunosuppresants. Maybe it is similar to that? If it is just skin discoloration where the blisters were, I would bet this will eventually fade completely.
