Title: Smiles
Post by: GuyIncognito on September 07, 2006, 06:19:19 PM
I was just transferring pictures onto disc and I came upon a picture of the island I proposed to my wife on... It still makes me smile inside and out. it's places like that island that keep me positive in an otherwise bleak existence.

WHAT MAKE YOU SMILE???

That's it!!!  There is our deserted island :)   That is absolutely gorgeous (but i dont see a McDonald's) :o      Now, as for what makes me smile,  simple, one word,  LIFE..  This message box is not big enough for me to list all that makes me happy,  but in short,  my hubby, Sam, he is my world, my rock, my freak of the week (oops, sorry got carried away)  ::)

What makes me smile? huh? Well....

- When my son helps an elderly person.

- When people tell me how great my son is.

- Watching my son sleep and wondering what he is dreaming about.

- Wondering how lucky I am to have such a wonderful wife.

- The love people have for ihatedialysis.com site.

- Knowing that one day I will walk and run again.

When I think of more I will add.

I usually smile about a lot of things but lately the top have been:  the wonderful cat in my picture (esp. when she nudges my head, runs to greet me, and stands on her hind legs as a penguin), Mint Milano Cookies, my children at work....

The picture was taken at my parents cottage in the muskokas. Years ago my brothers and I use to swim out to the island but now I prefer to row.

Yeah, can you imagine those little things eating 10 pounds of cookies!  They like to do 3 things in order:  eat, bark, sleep.  OK 4... Poop!

Rerun love those doggies!  My collie doesn't get up on the bed yet - if he does I have to lure him up with a treat but he doesn't stay long...maybe he's afraid of heights!   ??? Anyway I'm working on it.  My first collie would always sleep with us.  Nonetheless I get down wherever he is to be with him!  He's a hoot!

Most times, its just waking up in the morning, knowing I have another chance to make it all right.

Post by: kitkatz on September 09, 2006, 02:28:29 PM
Yep, I get up in the monring and say "Hey look here I am another day!; then I read the paper and realize "Hey I am not listed in the obits section, hurray!"  Then out the door and at work it is "Here I am another day. I made it this far."  Then to dialysis:" Well one more thing and the day will be over."   Off of dialysis "Well here I am another day gone to heck and back."  Then I go to bed to do it all over again another day , hopefully.

The things that make me smile are my Partner (who occasionally has the opposite effect aswell) and also my 2 devon rex cats Amber & Jester. Especially when Amber  curls up at my feet while I am on Heamo :)

Sassy, I don't know if this will help you but I wrote this thread to help new BBC users learn how to use the codes you seem to be messing up on.  Check this thread out.  Learning BBC aka: EzCode (http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=931.msg9488#msg9488)  I also wrote a similar "how to" post here (http://angiee1973.proboards42.com/index.cgi?board=techhelp&action=display&thread=1157346367&page=1#1157346367) as well and I feel that the second one is more detailed.

My son make me smile A LOT. He is a teenager, with loads of sense of humor. He is not only my son...he is my friend. My wife makes me smile...she is soooo serious....that is funny to make her jokes. My two stupid cats are funny also....at the end, because that's the way I am...I don't take life too seriously, otherwise I'll be crying all day. I know life is good and I want to see my grandchildren one day (ONE day...not today, though!!!)....but some days are so hard to bear.

Believe it or not Borak makes me laugh and Ali G....and sometimes people on videos at youtube. ;)

Seeing him as I wake up beside me makes me smile.  AWWWWWW! ( aren't we cute).
Knowing I have another day ahead makes me groan, then smile. ;D

The building is a sanctuary, El Santuario de Chimayo Shrine in a tiny
town called Chimayo, NM. People come from all over the world
to take a small scoop of dirt from the floor of the chapel. The dirt
is said to have healing powers. Good place to find a miracle. But
besides that, there are the most delicious tamales at a nearby stand,
and it's a beautiful place to take pictures.
