I feel a little guilty actually - disappearing from a kidney-failure forum is a bit inconsiderate, making people wonder what is happening to you!
All is well for me. Transplant is still going strong. I've had some more surgery - parathyroidectomy, kind of a little walk in the park really, in comparison! Or maybe I am just tougher now. I'll say it again, without fear or guilt this time - I wouldn't change what I've been through, it's made me who I am. I'm tougher, smarter, calmer and more understanding than I ever was before.
I am still working in my medical transcription job, and will hopefully be doing the same type of work from home next year, so I can avoid hours of travel each day.
Enough about me - I hope everyone at IHD is doing well, esp the regulars I was getting to know so well!

OMG Charee, it's all done and dusted (well not dusted, exactly, it never is for kidney patients, but you know what I mean!). That's fantastic!
-
Glad you are back. Now don't go away too soon! :cheer:

Hi Cycobully. Glad you're back! Say, I seem to remember that you were having trouble with pain (muscles? joints? can't remember the details). Is it better now? What happened with that?
-
Would you believe, my joints are almost normal now!! It only took over 12 months, and the removal of 3.5 out of 4 parathyroid glands. At first, after the surgery, there were no results. My joints still hurt and I was just in constant tears about it, because even the doctors looked baffled as to why there hadn't been any change. Anyway, I am off the daily painkillers all together now. I don't even carry emergency Panadol in my bag or anything, anymore.
I still can't run or jump like a "normal" person, so I'm a bit limited in the exercise field, but heck I'M ALMOST NORMAL. :yahoo; :yahoo;
-
Wow, that's great! :2thumbsup; So glad to hear you're feeling better. :flower;
-
Yeah, now I have no excuse not to EXERCISE! :boxing;
-
You should try aquatic exercise. It puts absolutely no stress on the joints so you remain pain free.
-
Welcome back Cycobully. Good to hear life has been good to you. Stay in touch now,
you hear?
LoveMimi

:2thumbsup; Hope you and your dad have a great holiday! Welcome back!

That was the plan - there's a pool right near my work. But I just haven't gotten around to it! Slack, hey?!
-
Aqua therapy does help. Been doing that for the last year. Just hate doing the treadmill in the water, it doesn't stop like a regular treadmill. It just jolts to a stop, doesn't slow down first.
-
Well, at least you won't get slammed into a wall! ;D
-
That's still a possibility since it is against the wall in the pool. My luck, it will happen and then ned more therapy.
-
Nah. You'll just glide towards the wall! ;D Remember, you're in water.
-
Is ok. Me too, did a dissap. act also. So glad to be back and reconnect.

That's more likely to happen to me at the average concert I attend. Being a small-built, female metal fan is not without its risks :rofl;
