Hello Joe, Welcome to IHD. When I first started dialysis I felt the same way you are. Most people can't grasp all the problems that occur with kidney failure. No matter how you try and explain what your going thru. We here do and can grasp it all and I want you to get to know our site and interact with our members. When you ask questions you will get straight answers and I can't guarantee that you will feel any differant but you will at least have a feeling of welcome...

Hi Joe and welcome to IHD. You are just starting dialysis so give yourself a break. It is hard at first but the more you learn about your issue the more at ease you will be. I guess the good news is you can live without kidney function. I know you don't want to hear this but people live years on dialysis. If you have a chance for a transplant that would be the best. Hang in there and just come on this site and read lots of post.

:waving; Joe! You should be happy to know that you have come to the right place! You NOW have people to talk to who most definitely understand what you're going through. In time you will feel right at home! So rant away!!! :rant; Cry if you want! :'( We aren't going anywhere!!!! :popcorn;

:welcomesign; to the best place, best people...I felt like you when this started but I found this site and started giving my family and friends all the info I got here and that has helped a lot...most people just don't know about kidney failure until it hits them in the face so it's up to us to educate everyone.

Joe, neither your tears nor your pain is invisible to those of us here. We're very very familiar with both and you are most definitely NOT alone. I started dialysis at 26 and it's been a long road but I had a transplant for 23 years and am hoping to get another. You can complain and rant here, we understand. You can be sad and angry here, we understand. You can ask any questions you have here, we'll do our best to help you find an answer, we understand what it's like to be confused by all there is to figure out.
:welcomesign; to IHD. I hope you'll post often and please know that WE care.
:cuddle;
PS You are too young to have to deal with this @#%* but we all know by now that life simply isn't all that fair.

Hi Joe :cuddle; We are so glad you are here! I think all of us have felt similar to you. My family loves me, but they really can't grasp the whole thing. "Mom is tired today" "She isn't feeling good" But on the other hand, they think I can do everything I have always done. So, I come here for complete acceptance and understanding. You are dealing with this at a very early time in your life and I am sorry for that. You will gain many friendships here. You can rant and complain all you want to; that is why we are here. We support each other and we also make each other laugh. We really are happy you joined and look forward to reading more of your posts. You aren't alone! :grouphug;

Welcome to our community, Joe! I am so glad that you found us! This site has been (and still is) a very important weapon in my dealing with this renal challenge that life has sent my way. This is the place for information, support (from people who REALLY understand) and even some fun. Really, this is more than a website. You will find out that you have joined a caring and sharing family. :grouphug; So, read at much as you can, and post as much as you can. Feel free to rant, rave, rage, vent as your need is. We are here for you.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Joe!
I know how you feel as I am pretty new to all of this, too and it is a lot to get your head around. This place was described to me in my intro as "a soft place to land" and I can't agree more. Many good people here. You have come to the right place. :)

Hey Joe, DON"T despair you are not alone! Others do know how you feel and are fellow sufferers :welcomesign; to the group. You will find friends and comfort here and I hope you will count me as one of your compatriots. I'm older almost 60 but my mind is still young and keeps wondering how I got in this old wrinkled worn out body :urcrazy; I have found a sense of humor helps me get through the day cause life is full of funny :bandance; even when things appear different, just look deeper ::) Melinoir
