Hello everyone. Life until recently has been a real chore for me but certainly not going to go into that after reading he sad news about Susie. The poor darling was always there for everyone and even when I was going through a terrible time last year she still sent me personal messages just to let me know she was thinking about me. Well, instead of bowing out gracefully which I had full intention of doing, I am now going to start dialysis next month. It took another lifethreatening situation for me to make that decision. I am now writing a book which I hope with be of some support to those in a similar situation. I now also spend my early mornings in the gym in an effort to get as fit as possible before I start dialysis. The ESRD symptoms are not causing me too much grief and I have managed to drop about 20 kilos. Would still like to drop another 10 kilos. I am sure all the exercise has also helped me to see the future a little more clearly. Nothing seems impossible anymore. Anyhow, enough of me. I hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected. I have really only read the threads about Susie but I will endeavour to catch up over the next week or so to check how everyone is doing. I am so sorry I have been of such little support to everyone on the site. The past 12 months I have worked 18 hours a day just so I didn't have time to think or feel. Very selfish but also something I had no control over. So, love to you. Hey Sluff.....cute new icons. I needed a blast of Kit's bat about 12 month's ago!!!

Hi All
Could you please not send any PM's to me until I have worked out why my email address didn't change in my profile. My old work is getting the PM's as they are still going to that address although the address shows as changed in my profile. Any computer nerds out there ?RichardMel? who can tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks, Cindy.

As for the mail address change send me a PM and I will try to change it for you if I can. Great to hear from you again, I knew we would hear from you, but life gets in the way sometimes, we can all understand that! You fought the good fight fending off dialysis as long as you have.

So glad that you are with us again!! We missed you. My caring thoughts and prayers are with you all the way as you start dialysis. You never know, it might make you feel much better. It did for me. Don't forget that this site is good for ranting and raving and venting and raging. Please don't leave us out when you are going through your stuff. We want to be there with you all the way.

You don't mention what your weight or body mass index is, so I can't tell whether you have a lot or a little weight to lose, or whether you are tyring to become very thin. You might want to consider in your weight reduction program the fact that recent research shows that dialysis patient survival rates are better for those who are overweight.

Lucinda, we could have made the last 12 months a lot easier if you would have let us be here for you. Don't do that again! I'm glad you made the choice to try dialysis. I know it is a hard one. If you have any concerns or problems bring them here. There is usually someone who has gone through it before and can calm your fears.

OK everyone.....I am putting RichardMel in the POO!!!! Young Richard sent me an email to my old email address - which was my former place of employment - so the problem was not with my personal messaging on IHD...Richardo was the culprit. My old personal assistant at my work now gets my emails and she rang me this morning. Not only was she worried about some of the content in the email about starting dialysis.....she wanted to know who Richard was!!!! She asked me if I was having an AFFAIR....thanks Rich!!! I suppose to the outside world we are a lovey dovey bunch. I will deal with you later

Congrats on the getting back on a healthy lifestyle kick - exercise is good for all at the right pace for each individual. As for me, I have missed it. Too darn hot in Houston to even go outside. (Well today is storming with Eduard... but normally too hot!)
