This is me Lori , Dustin's mom

« on: June 12, 2008, 07:31:22 PM »

Hi Friends,
Just thought I would drop ya all a note. Dustin's bp rose to 240/140 at dialysis and was taken to the hospital where he is now in ICU. His bp was 150/100 when I left. They had gave him soooooooo much meds and it still didn't budge. I told the Dr on rounds this happens alot and the reply we get alot of the time is he isnt taking his meds I told him I am so sick of hearing that. He takes his meds now since he is in the hospital they can SEE that his bp doesnt budge easy. I also told the Dr I am sick of hearing well he needs more water off If I hear that one more time I feel like punching someone!!!!!! The Dr said worse case scenerio IF they cant get control of it they will have to take out his kidneys!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I am asking all of you dear friends to pray for Dustin that they get control of this. The Dr said sometimes your kidneys will make your bp go crazy and once out the bp goes back to normal. I am hoping the meds do a MIRACLE!!!

I will keep you updated I am going back to the hospital in Indianapolis.

Dear Lori, I can hear the Mother's frustration in your post.  I hate it that Dustin is going through this.  And I hate that the doctors think they know the problem and aren't listening to you.  I will pray for the meds to be the problem.  Hopefully tomorrow will see better bp numbers.  I'll just keep saying lots of prayers for Dustin, and for a good solution to this problem.  Update us when you can.  In the meantime, we are here for you.  Lots of good thoughts :cuddle; :cuddle; :cuddle;

Lori,
In our prayers tonight, we will ask God to make Dustin well enough and strength for you. In our filipino culture, we believe that a mother's prayer for her kid is the most strongest prayer of all, it has healing powers! Good thoughts sending your way.

Oh Lori, I know you are a nervous wreck.  Before they start taking out kidneys, I would get a second opinion
or even a third.  Rest assured you and Dustin are in all of our prayers.  Let us know about him when you get a chance.

Love, Mim

Dear Lori,

So very sad to read about your Dustin.  Please know I have him and
you in my prayers.  I can only imagine how angry and frustrated you
have to feel with those Drs.

Big hugs to you and Dustin, Lori.  It sounds frightening and frustrating all rolled into one worrisome package.  I feel like I almost know Dustin and you too and of course I'm sending all my good thoughts your way today.

More prayers headed Dustin's way. I'm sorry he has to go through this. Stupid Dr's who wouldn't believe him when he told them he's taking his meds in the first place! If they'd've listened, maybe he wouldn't be in ICU right now.  :Kit n Stik;
