I feel for you most of all. I hate getting something, going to ER with it, getting patted on the head and told to go home and sweat it out. *Sigh* Hugs to you!

Thanks for all your caring expressions of love and concern. My sister had the shunt put in and will start chemo next Thursday. My situation got a bit worse. the fever worsened, so did the sore throat and I developed a cough that would make you run and hide. I could not sleep properly on Wednesday night or Thursday night. I saw every hour on my watch. I started taking the prescribed antibiotic Friday morning. The doctor checked me out during dialysis yesterday and admitted me to the hospital after dialysis. I also got a shunt (a family icon?) for iv antibiotics. Anyway, I got my first fairly good night's sleep on Friday night and I think the rest is doing me quite well. X-rays show that I have a chest infection (don't like that word at all in IHD). The doctor thinks I might be able to go home on Monday after this course of antibiotics. I certainly hope so.
The worse part is that they have as my meal info - DLS Renal. Can you imagine! Diabetic, Low Salt, Renal My diabetes has been under control for a long time now, and my blood pressure is not problematic. I hate food with no salt!! But I have a way around that, trust me!!
My daughter just brought the laptop for me so that is going to help me along (until she returns for it; she needs it to study).

Thank you so much for your caring thoughts and prayers. I was discharged from hospital this afternoon. I had been feeling so much better for the last few days. It seems I needed the rest as well. My diagnosis was bronchial pneumonia. I will be continuing the antibiotics at home.
I heard my sister. she had her first chemo - it went fairly well, but she felt the effects a day or two later, but she is doing well.
