Hello my friends and family. It has been awhile since i have been on here. In doing so i know i have worried some of you. Sluff, Lola, Brenda, Okarol and a few others e-mailed me on several occasions to see that i was OK. First of all i am not used to people worrying. It was and i mean the word was a part of my life. I was moving along with dialysis and all the crap that we all have to deal with. Then one day it all came crashing in. I would read threads, see people at my center die and got sick of the whole damn thing. All i wanted to do was live in a cave somewhere with no worries about dialysis. Well it didn't go away it is still here and i have had to face it. I have had to make decisions that were hard to make. As i am sure by some prior threads i wrote i had two people want to donate. There match was poor but the doctors tried there best to talk me and them into it anyway. I didn't want to go through all of that again so i spent time by myself and thought it through. I decided to just stay on dialysis and took my name off the list. All of this took months for me to figure out. I thank the people who wanted to donate. Once i made this decision i was able to feel allot better. It was a weight off my shoulders. I know in the process though i have caused a great deal of worry to all. I am sorry for that. If it wasn't for the persistence of my good friends Sluff, lola, Brenda, and okarol i would probably still be in the "funk" I am slowly getting back into the swing of things here. I know i have some catching up to do. I know in time i will back to the old Keefer. I would also like to add that i have met a wonderful and beautiful woman who has excepted me for everything i am. She wants to share this experience with me. She has become a wonderful caregiver to me and i love her dearly for it. Thank you B.G.

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.

Oh, Keefer, my heart aches to hear all that you've been through.  But, then, my heart is happy to hear that there's a lady friend who wants to share this difficult journey with you.  The burden truly is easier to bear when it's shared by two.  You're lucky!

Keefer we all have to hoe are own row, and if a break is what you needed then you have to do whats best for you. We will always be here, the important thing is that you know that. It's hard enough to live with ESRD and the perks  :sarcasm;  that go with it without it being thrown in your face every living moment. I heard someone this last week say that the only way they have learned to deal with it all is to not think about it and just go and do it.(the dialysis part) So I guess we understand what you mean.

I'm glad you met this lady of yours and she sounds like a real sweetheart. I hope things continue to go well.  :grouphug; for you and a  :-* for her.

Take care friend.

Hey Keefer welcome back. I have been wearing my Chalfont, PA sweatshirt to dialysis for every treatment since I got it. I have even been complimented on my little modification of it. Thanks again for that and good to have you back...Boxman

Welcome back, Keefer! Glad you found your way back to us, and even more glad that you have found someone to share this difficult journey with. I'm sorry you had such a rough couple of months, but we all must deal with this in our own way. Hopefully your new friend will make it a little bit more pleasant for you!
