"Oldborris" or Bob Harris was only a member for a very short time and he had a very positive attitude about dialysis. He made the decision to terminate hemodialysis treatment, mainly due to other health conditions seriously jeopardizing his ability to enjoy life. Bob passed away peacefully at Trinity Hospice on Monday, October 17, 2005.  As you will see by reading his posts, oldborris was a "unique" person.

RIP Old Borris.  He passed before I joined but I knew several people at my unit who made the same choice.  At the time it seemed inconceivable that a person could make such a decision but that outlook was coming from the perspective of being much younger and only having a couple of health problems.  He's in a place where there are no needles, no machine alarms, no fluid overload, and no restrictions.  I'm sure he is much happier.

For any who do not like me I use - prayer.

Out of the pain of night-watching removed
Into the sleep that God gives His beloved,
Into the dawn of a glad resurrection,
Into the house of unbroken affection,
Into the joy of the Lord- thence confessing
Death in disguise is His angel in blessing.

Love, Mimi
