Kickstart your not on your own. I start with restless legs and eventually restless everything until it feel like every nerve in my body is on end. Sometimes when I'm lying in bed tossing and turning I feel like I want to get on a bouncy castle and just through myself about and scream as loud as I can

kickstart, i know what you mean.  i had restless body syndrome.  it would start with my legs and in a matter of minutes it would be all over my body.  arms, legs, stomach, neck, every muscle in me was jumpy.  driving me and my wife crazy.  the only cure for me was heavy doses of sleeping pills.  you still might be a freak so  :welcomesign; to the freak club.

I have been through the gullet when it comes to the restless heebie jeebies.

Lyrica has been a help on the legs and so has Garbenten and now it has been so bad that I'am taking muscle relaxers called cyclobenzaprine and it has helped greatly but mixing the cyclobezeprine10mg  and lyrica 75mg  makes you very sleepy.

I'm on tablets for my legs , which usually work well and sleeping tablets which have been good! I love the idea of a big bouncy castle to jump around on , sounds perfect!!! Good to know there's a few other 'Restless Freaks' out there .. :rofl;

The first night or two that I took Ambien, I actually woke myself and my husband up with my flailing arms. It started out in whatever dream I was having, just a general sense of tension or unease, and the next thing I knew, I was awake, and my arms were up in the air flailing around. I haven't had it happen in many months, though.

kt, with that new transplant the rls shouldn't bother you at all.  at least that was the way for me.  as soon as i got the transplant it went away.  thank god too, because it was just driving me crazy.   :urcrazy;

What causes this restless legs/arms?  I am getting it as well in my legs.  I tend to feel is in my lower, lower back and it radiates down into my butt and legs.  Drives me nuts!  I thought maybe I was taking my meds too late and started to take them earlier.  I didn't have the restless feeling last night, so I'm not sure if it's something I'm causing or not.

What can be taken OTC?  I have too many prescription meds already!   :thx;

I have another problem.  My husband has restless legs.  They jump every minute.  He sleeps thought it all but I can't sleep.  This week his arm also started twitching.  Whenever it happens I need to get up and move to the other room to sleep.  :(

Nope, no problems since the transplant. I had the problems probably six months ago or so.

I believe the toxins building up causes some problems with the central nervous system, and that's what causes the RLS in dialysis patients. I don't think there's anything OTC you can take. With all the other meds and things that may not be cleared out by dialysis, I would check with your doctor about anything you were going to take, anyway.
