You mentioned 7-up . Have you read the ingredients of the `new' all natural 7-up?

It contains potassium citrate! If you have a high potassium level,perhaps it would be best to avoid this.

Also the new foods with lower sodium that use the lower sodium sea salt in them. This salt contains 41% potassium. Campbells tomato soup now contains 10% of a normal persons daily requirement of potassium.

Watch baked goods for phosphorus.  Baking powder is very high in phosporus. Dietician told us its better to bake yourself rather than buy from a bakery or packaged cookies. I always reduce the amount of baking powder in a recipe by about half. I never add the salt that a recipe for cookies or muffins says to put in.

I make my own cornbread and pancakes and do ok for awhile, then I slip and start getting the store bought. One week I was good at 4.5, than cheated and it rose to 7.0. I have to get it under control a bit more but it sure is hard.
